Tony Blair is now Sir Tony.

The UK public was massively in favour of toppling Saddam at that time.
I saw plenty of public demonstration against the war. I didn't see any in favour of it.
I dare say the public demonstrations against the war were the largest ever seen.
As the date for the march approached the BBC was predicting that around 500,000 people would attend, while the StWC was hoping for numbers to top the symbolically significant million mark.
Police estimated attendance as well in excess of 750,000 people and the BBC estimated that around a million attended.
It is relatively uncontentious that the march was the largest ever political demonstration in the UK

A sole person demonstrated in opposition to the march outside the Iraqi section of the Jordanian Embassy on the day

I don't recall ever seeing a demo in favour of a government decision, even the good ones.

That Iraq caper caused a lot of damage to the rep of the British army IMO

It got to the stage of having to get permission from the local mullers as to if they could go out on patrol

yeah right

I would have thrown all the press out the country and reeked havoc

any one poking there nose in like Iran would have ended up back in the Stone Age as well

Blimey there was some film of thousands of Isis fruit cakes in some convoy being given safe passage out the country or area ?

they would have all ended up incinerated beside the road ;)

The only thing these demonstrations proved, was that those in power don't give a **** what the people think.
