Yeah but that won’t make any difference……

People live a lifestyle they can’t maintain and cry when a house is too much.

I saved my *******s off for my first house.

You missed the bit where you say "they're working from home too, and get Ubers there! All the while, the RR - on lease - sits on the driveway, coz the Porsche - also leased - is blocking it in....."

yep there is people in here who think we have always been millionaires without working for it ;)

We even have those complaining about inequality of wealth who sit in their £1m Surry mansion counting their money.

My lad used to do that when he’d been out the night before

Now he’s got his own place he is so much better with money.

You'd do well to manage that nowadays.
I could save you enough to buy the same sort of house. It would take me longer, I’ll admit that.

My point is people won’t make the sacrifices nowadays. They don’t see the value in getting on the property ladder

I've already posted - a number of times - that I often drop off and collect my second-born from there, so I am well aware of this.

But, as you are fond of

basic maths

what proportion of the potential customer base, of any particular Maccies, do you think this "constant stream" is servicing?

And of that, what proportion do you think are not already "on the housing ladder", so can do whatever they like with their money?

yep can still be done , done it twice in the last ten years and know a few others that have as well

Some won't.
T'was ever thus.

They don’t see the value in getting on the property ladder

Some don't.
Some can't ever see the realistic prospect of doing so.
And the choice of language - "value", when speaking of "the property ladder" - says much about what is wrong with the situation, imho.

Jump on, or miss the boat!

Housing as an asset is one of the reasons why this country is in the mess that it is, imho.
