We've offered you three billion now you want another three billion and you want us go speed up your entry in to the EU you can have anything you want because we haven't got a clue what to do ..........

Oh but if you join us in the EU then 75 million of you can then come here too ! And you're a Muslim country

Isn't it strange how all the Muslims want to come to the ungodly West

Is it really true that if Turkey do join we could theoretically be invaded by millions of Turks?

Who knows really?

I actually don't mind the Turks...and I mean the people not the Government. I worked with them for years and found them to be nice people and incredibly moderate.
However, I must admit that I do still find it odd that Muslims want to come to the West, to a culture that is often at odds with their own?

No it's not true we wouldn't be invaded.
If we remain in the EU and Turkey join any turkish person would have the RIGHT to come here just like the millions and a half poles.
So we wouldn't be invaded because it's legal .......how many would want to come ? Anyone's guess.

:LOL: And the Brexit-ers have the nerve to accuse the Remain-ers of scare-mongering.
At least those campaigning to REMAIN base their projections on real data, probable scenarios, historical examples, factual investigation.
What is the scare-mongering, and only plank in the campaign, of the Brexit-ers based on (as it always has been) inundation of immigrants!
Turkey wants the EU to accept a recognised Syrian refugee, and offer more funding and progress on EU integration.
is what Turkey wants.
preparations for a decision on the opening of new chapters in talks on EU membership for Turkey
is what Turkey has accepted.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-35749837
Now we know from experience that Turkey has wanted into the EU since 1964 (Newsnight last night form a Turkish MP), (but Wikipedia suggests 1959) has been seriously negotiating since about 1999. In that time, one chapter (out of 35) has been completed and 8 of those chapters remain frozen:
European officials have commented on the slowdown in Turkish reforms which, combined with the Cyprus problem, led the EU’s Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn in March 2007 to warn of an impeding ‘train crash’ in the negotiations. Due to these setbacks, negotiations again came to a halt in December 2006, with the EU freezing talks in 8 of the 35 key areas under negotiation.

So if anyone thinks that Turkey is likely to accede any time soon, think again, seriously.
If Turkey takes no action over the migrants, it is going to completely derail Turkey's application.
Even if Turkey does not renege on the deal, it still has tremendous amount of reform to process, and the completion of the remaining 34 chapters.
The EU has only agreed to preparations on the re-opening of some of those chapters!

There's no point holding a trump card if you don't play it

You are showing a naive faith in the EU.

Surely you know by now that the EU will bend, break or ignore its own rules if it is politically and economically expedient to do so.
All this talk of freedom of speech and human rights in Turkey will be out of the window if it makes life easier for the Eurocracy.
They can then return to their dining club, which is what they do best.

Apparently the average wage in Turkey is approximately £80 per week ( radio today ). So if Turkey joined the EU why on earth would anyone want to remain in Turkey when they can come here and earn to them a fortune to send money back home.
Man comes here lodges with others lives cheap and sends excess back home makes sense doesn't it.

That's what two polish mothers did worked and lived on a farm, one would be here for two weeks while her sister looked after both sets of kids, then they swapped roles. This was financing a new house been built in Poland. So how many turks would want to do the same, Plus for reasons I don't know Muslims want to come to europe rather than stay in Turkey or go to Saudi or Eygypt

If they come here and work, they would be paying Tax ??
Or are the English Employers unscrupulous

What workers do with their money after they have paid Tax is their business.

You're going off at a tangent that's a different issue, the point is there would be a country with a population of 70,000,000 and all them would have the RIGHT to come here. I'm not saying they all would. But with turkeys low average wage and human rights issues britain would seem really attractive.
Why do you think we had the jungle at calais ? All those migrants at calais are in a nice safe country but they don't want to be in France they want to be here.
Now why do you think that is, there must be a reason.

Answer; because we in this country are led by bleeding-heart, hand-wringing do-gooding suckers.

As I've said several times now, It's hardly likely that Turkey will accede to EU any time soon.
As George Osborne said:
Turkey becoming a member of the EU is not "on the cards" any time soon, UK Chancellor George Osborne has said.....
On Sunday's Andrew Marr show, Mr Osborne said: "We have a veto over whether Turkey joins or not.
"We can set conditions and we have made it absolutely clear that we will not accept new member states to the European Union and give them unfettered free movement of people unless their economies are much closer in size and prosperity to ours."
So any comments about Turkey are just scaremongering designed to appeal to the anti-immigration islamophobes.
Even if we're not in EU, other countries have exactly the same veto over Turkey's accession, and they're likely to use it.
Additionally, the same conditions will still be in place.
Additionally, if Turkey reneges on the refugee deal it'll stop any idea of accession dead in the water.
Additionally, if Turkey's human rights situation is not improved it'll also stop accession dead in its tracks.
Finally Turkey has been expressing a desire to accede to EU since 1959/1965 (depending on who you ask) and has made little progress so far.

But I guess it's the major plank of the Brexit campaign, so they'll continue with the scaremongering.

As I've said several times before - the EU will backtrack, fudge and lie if it suits its purpose.

And, by-the-way, you don't listen to Gideon - he's as bad as the rest.

Cyprus is hardly likely to agree either, nor is Germany.
It's got nothing to do with the EU. It's the individual countries head, in the European Council, that decides whether to veto or not.
So what you really mean is: "the countries will backtrack, fudge and lie if it suits its purpose."
Are you going to suggest that no-one can be trusted? In which case why isn't Turkey already in the EU? Or can they be trusted at the moment but not at some point in the future?
You seem to be convinced we've elected lying evil dictators.

Hopefully the Bear will have at the Turk soon enough then the problems will all be over
