ok this is a nice little eye opener for all gas fitters there is soon to be a 2 tier system on the way all down to corgi messing with the regs

they are soon to be updating there web sites to show gas fitters that are qualified to do electrical work and they will be seperating the 2

so as it stands corgi has deserted the GAS industry as we know it and are no longer looking out for our wellbeing if you all gas only your doomed

so much for CORGI looking out for the gas lads huh seems you should either be into gas or electricity and not both to my mind

will the gas only lads be getting a massive discount now for there CORGI fees

NO CHANCE

Already the CORGI find a fitter search includes energy efficiency and electrical parts.

If CORGI really do what is suggested above then there is a real danger to those installers who either use a seperate electrician or are a member of another notification scheme. They will be sidelined by CORGI because they are not paying CORGI £180 per annum to quell their coffers.

The CORGI scheme is very limited at the moment but later this year it is likely to be extended to full house rewires. The NIEIC scheme is much more expensive than CORGI and their inspection is about threee days and includes test equipment and the business accounts.

well what can u say i brought this to the attention of corgi and they say it is the way forward ?

gas fitters are not electricians if you want to be a sparky go do it somewhere else

the gas lads are being shafted good and proper so stuff them i will now no longer be so worried or uptight as to reporting any or anything or anyone i see doing anything untoward

the bigger the company the easier it is to comply with this shi&y legislation as all u need to do is employ a sparky then u got cover
