If a person pays for a contract killing, the person that paid isnt the killer, the hitman is the killer.

However the person that pays can be guilty of conspiracy to murder.

So this guy is just guilty of being a knobchomper ? I know he didn't kill her, he had no intention of doing her harm, there shouldn't have been any debris in the water to cause the crash, it was an accident.

But he fired a gun at a person or persons unknown, knowing that he could kill them, that is murder, the fact he "didn't know" who it was makes no difference, if you fire a gun at someone intentionally & they die, it's murder.

And that's the conclusion they (finally) came to. But even the courts found it a tricky one to sort out and took some time to get there.

I heard on the news that this guy can appeal against his conviction while on the run
