Thugs calling other thugs names, get spat on by the thugs, so the thugs then attack the other thugs.

But if one of the 'thugs' is going about their business (in a legal way - even if you don't like their views) and they are approached in an intimidating manner and then spat at. So they defend themelves.... why should they be locked up?
