What have you been doing today?

Nice walk with the dog and the Mrs today - all through some woods. We walked into town to pick up the trail, got lost, found our way out and we were literally less than a hundred yards from the cottage we are staying in!

Saw a couple of waterfalls.

I went into town to see Her Majesty. I was in The High Street (Royal Mile) and was having a conversation with the man next to me
We were saying to each other that we weren't going to see anyone due to the crowd. At that a lady asked us if we would like to come into her stair and watch from the window, she also asked a lady who was standing there. I thought, what's the catch? There wasn't one, she let the three of us into the stair and up to the 3rd storey window overlooking The High Street.
Here are a couple of pictures I took.
I also filmed the cortège as it passed but I'm not able to upload it.

We had planned to do a woodland walk afterwards but when Mrs Mottie saw this sign, she would go no further!

Not today, but recently got back from Alicante.

Took COVID passes, but no-one asked for them.

Stayed in an apartment which was good (super cold Aircon) and it had a pool and was right across the road to the beach.

Forgot how scarce fresh milk is in Spain. We foun d a couple of bottles but mostly we had to buy UHT.
I love it, but the rest of my clan don't!

Cooked and ate most meals in, but had two evening meals out.
Flew back from there yesterday morning. It was raining lol

Went to Grassmere today. Saw William Wordsworths family graves
The dog enjoyed herself though as we let her have a swim.

We had just got back to the cottage when a couple of fighter jets flew very low directly over the top of us - what a noise - frightened the crap out of the dog and she tried to climb up me for a cuddle!. It took her half an hour to stop trembling.

Working in cotton fields on the edge of the Golan Heights in 1976, Kfir fighter jets would fly over below radar level, maybe 50 feet above ground but I didn't have a measuring tape to hand, circle over the heights then return. Never heard them coming, just the explosion as they passed over your head. Think I may have sh1t meself on one occasion.

I have been on high fells years ago looking down on jets flying past, you could see the pilots faces.

Went to Ulverston today as Mrs Mottie had read that they had a market there. It was a three barrow market - a meat stall, a fish stall and one other. I bought a home made pastie for me and a sausage roll for Mrs Mottie from a local butchers and we sat on a bench by a roundabout eating them and unbeknown to us @crystal ball spotted us as he drove past - he didn’t even stop to say hello or give us a toot! Went to Coniston on the way home. When I told Mrs Mottie that we had been spotted on the roundabout, she was mortified. Absolutely mortified - I can count on the fingers of one hand the times she has eaten shop bought food out in public when it’s not been at a designated outside eating area. :ROFLMAO: She said while sitting there that she had a flashback to our first date - sitting in a rubbish location eating rubbish food! We're going out for a proper meal tonight at a local Thai restaurant to celebrate the 44th anniversary of us meeting on this day in 1978 in T.O.T.S. disco Southend. Hopefully that’ll shut her up! ;)
