It's Great due to the size, Great Britain is England Scotland and Wales, the Greatest (in size) of the British Isles.

As opposed to the Lesser Britain, called Brittany by the French.
So by definitive geography France is less than Britain.

Tolerance towards UK government haters such as JohnD, Ellal, Notch, Pat ex etc. There's many countries where they would 'fall out of a high window' , 'commit suicide' or spend the rest of their lives in jail if they made their feelings known publicly about the government. They don't reralise how privileged they are to live in this country.

For anyone who says/thinks the UK gets things so wrong (like the lefty tree-huggers) why is it SOooo many folk want to come here, whether legally or otherwise? Even folk like the Russians 'down with the west!!!' and yet many of them can't get enough of living here.

You assume we're not allowed to criticise issue that we disagree with?
And there was me, thinking we live in a democracy that encompasses free speech?
It appears you associate the word subversive or dissident for those who disagree with your world-view. I always thought that disagreement was allowed in a democracy.
Perhaps we should all sign an accord that adulates whichever government is in power that allows us to remain in UK.
