3 Phase Socket

The caterers said specifically it would be electric. There is a 3 course dinner for 300 people. Furthermore outdoor lighting will be 12,000kW and indoor will be the same. As for sound it is just about 8kW.

12000kw lol i think you have your numbers mixed up - you would need your own powerstation for this.

Im not sure, but i think hiring a generator, some long leads and distribution kit would be the answer here.

A 15KVA gen rented overnight, sit it in the corner of the garden. Also rent a long main cable, a couple of long internal cables and splitters and outlets etc.

The last one I did like is was for a wedding, and sounds to be about the same size.

We put in 50A TP, and that was plenty for their requirements.

Fair enough. I'm still not convinced about those loads, 8kW on sound alone says to me that you're talking around 30kW RMS of amplification, which is one hell of a rig for a 300 guest party. It's not uncommon for DJs to get into the habit of thinking that RMS output of the sound system = kW RMS power consumption. The caterers may have specified 63A SP, but with diversity their actual power consumption once the cooking equipment has initially heated up may be far less.

That said, I can only speculate based on what you've told us. If you really do need 125A 3Ph then it sounds as if a generator may be your only option. You will also want the relevant distro either way, which will be a job best contracted out to the company that hire you the equipment. On the other hand, if you can calculate real-world power consumption then you may find your existing supply to be adequate - it might take some time to work out, but it'll save you a fortune on diesel and hire costs.

I must have got sound wrong. However I know for sure about lighting. I work in the lighting industry, and do a lot of distro work, however not things like electricians installations.

63 Amp tp might be better, although I look at generators!

Thanks!

There is a private party for 300 people in a marquee the size of a tennis court. Would prefer direct power rather than a gennie.

So that includes: catering, lighting, sound, toilets, outdoor lighting.. etc
How far away from where the supply enters your premises?

I'd imagine you can still buy MCCBs for that board if need be, but they will not be cheap!
The supply is PME so exporting the earth isn't really an option.

How much would it cost for a generator for the day?

ypu have to question the competence of the installing sparky that put the single phase board off the henley blocks rather than off one of the spare ways in the 3 phase board..

Are you talking about the really new loooking Hager box at the top of pic _143.jpg?

That was installed 10 years after the original installation as a supply to a swimming pool shed.

Gennie is about £400 for the weekend, however there will be more than one of these parties happening over the next few years.

What cost would I be looking at for getting a 63 Amp 3ph installed in that room where the distro boards are?

still no excuse to not use the main DB for it..
tapping off the tails with henleys is only a last resort when you have no extra space in the main DB..

your cut out can accomodate fuses up to 200A per phase, you'll have to enquire of your DNO what size the supply cable is though, and your meter appears to have a limit of 100A per phase.. so we'll assume that the most you'll have in the cut out fuseholders is 100A fuses..

63A breaker for your main board..

It is about 20 metres from that room that I pictured.

Also what are "henleys"?

Thanks
