britsh gas f'''ers!!

Not necessarily, near the gas burning appliance is best, why have it at the other side of the house so around the appliance becomes toxic untilm the levels around the alarm are met and it's activated.
Surely an RGI would know this?

read the instruction i got them here with me for the bg co detectors

proves to me dave british gas patio sales man you are another bg idoit

dont lie bob, you cant read. you have someone reading this to you now.

so i take it getting boiler cover from british gas is a waste of money, as they'll just try and rip you off anyway????

Don't care what instructions say, I suggest you read the advantica research commissioned by the HSE into CO build up in domestic properties. Putting a CO alarm away from the source is about as much use as a smoke alarm by the fire exits. What's the point? It's too late by the time it goes off or does common sense not factor neither?
So boiler is downstairs but put the alarm outside your bedroom door???? Alarm activation at say 50ppm, thus downstairs levels will be sustantially higher... Route of exit therefore through dangerous levels. Bright idea.

said he "needs a new boiler" quoted 3k for combi swap

But BG engineers don't give quotes for new boilers. They arrange a visit from a salesman.

Is that what you mean?

QUOTE FROM CORGI

The ideal position to place a carbon monoxide detector would be on a wall 5 feet high above the floor or on the ceiling. Be cautious not to place this device near a fire place or any such flame producing device. It is ideal to use a separate detector on each floor. In case a single carbon monoxide detector is being used, do take care to place it near the sleeping area and keep the alarm loud enough to wake you up whenever the gas levels rise above normal.

Cos corgi have been right about everything.
So by that logic mr puller the 1.5m away some dtectors recommend from a fire is too close???
Nonsense. It means not right ontop of the appliance.
And whoses bedroom gets the protection? Parents, kids? It's generic advice and not what's best for safe detection. You must surely see logic in the point I raise? Not even you are that stupid.
Would you put a smoke alarm in your porch?

shhhhhh, certain BG managers will have an orgasm at this news.

Smoke alarm downstairs? Same principle, that's why the dB level is designed to wake 99% of people.
And are the captial letters supposed to mean anything?
It's good to see you've obviously purchased a BG alarm though seeing as you have the instructions to hand.
unless you've read my CV, how do you know who I work for now matey..how apt your name is though, "dole" from your gas knowledge it's the best place for you.
Night night, sleep tight, I will, CO alarm an all x x x
