I stand by mine.
They dont give a toss about us, why should we about them?

You obviously have no understanding of the word compassion.....I hope you never have to look into the eyes of a mother holding her dying child and then still 'not give a toss'

How about looking in the eyes of your own mother dying as there's not enought money in the pot to pay for her cancer treatment, because we live in bolton?.
You donate to charities?
Come and live up here, there are shops that buy clothing/rags, etc.

Look how our **** country is going, fook everyone else

Come on John , our country only gives aid and bail outs to countries that it has some kind of connection with , such as trade etc etc.
Do you really think the UK just hands out billions for no reason or gain?

I most certainly do believe the government hand over our money without reason or gain. How many UK jobs have been lost to India over the years. They have a space program the UK can't even hope to match. They have industries the UK can't hope to match, yet we still give them millions in aid every year. Aid that's now ringfenced, even when our factories are closing and UK industry is just about on it's knees. What do we have to gain from giving countries such as India and Pakistan, all of this money?

Explain please.

PS,,,, The only connection I can see that the UK has with Pakistan is the fact that half the Pakistan population now own and live in properties in the UK.

I dunno John , how about the Trans Afghan Pipeline for a start? I'm pretty sure there are more economic reasons far bigger than a Talk Talk call centre. Perhaps we have air bases out there? Perhaps they are keeping our soldiers alive , fuelled and fed while they fight in Afghanistan?
What I do know is our government wouldn't give a ****e of there was nothing in it for us.

The way things are going in this country, it won't be many years before we're receiving foreign aid from third world dictatorships. Comic relief will be held in Botswanaland, to raise money for English pensioners and children. Somalia will host Band Aid 10, in aid of the starving millions in Scotland. Rhodesia not to be outdone will host One World, One People, raising much needed millions for babies in Wales.

All of these people have access to clean water and food and medical help should they need it.

But,,,, How many mentally ill people on the streets of UK PLC seek medical attention when they most need it? How many actually get the medical help they desperately need?.

I have no idea fella, but I do know our NHS , even though its stressed and bursting at the seams , still does the best it can.
Some people on this earth dont even have that.
In my view everybody should have access to free medical treatment.

That may be a reality if we keep going the way we are going and consuming everything we can get our hands on.
Things do change though and once a great country can become a third world easier than we might expect.

Giving money to charities is easy what ever small amount you can afford and admirable. Its just a shame so much is eaten up by administration and siphoned off in foreign lands by corrupt officials to buy guns, drugs etc.

If you want to really help then spend a year in Africa helping directly with a charity organisation. Then 100% of your effort is utilised.
Those are the people I really admire.
I'd never do it though as I'm too selfish and I'd be scared of what I might see out there. Also being at the end of an ak47 before I know what its like and the thought of a kid holding one is even more scary.

Couldn't agree more, you are a selfish coward. (joke)

To pump money into a failing state; the country then get richer, and the people of the country see the golden land of the UK, so emigrate here..to seek a better education, and a better life, to fleece the country of money, to send back home...time and time and time again...and then you lot on here complain about immigrants, illegal or otherwise.

Britain UK isn't an Empire any more. We have no money, and no right to be pooling millions to corrupt regimes, WE are broke, never mind them. If they have 10 kids with 3 wives, and 1/3 of them die, tough love, that is how it was in this country 100 years ago. We have our own problems at home. Charity begins at home. To forget your own, and pay into a regime, that is known to steal money is simply wrong.

So what's our connection with Somalia apart from pirates?

They don't have it cos they don't pay into it. We pay into it but let everyone else p*nce off it for free.

Ireland goes broke...Britains bails them out

The banks go broke...Britain bails them out

India need more money towards their space programme...Britain sends it

China don't need as much money as they used to as they are doing quite well at the moment thank you...Britain sends some anyway

Somalia needs lots of money - maybe the pirate business isn't doing to well...Britain sends a shed load.

First signs of a drought, earthquake, flood (not including floods in GB of course)...The ol' cheque book is smoking where they can't send the money quick enough.

Mr Oldbloke 85, lives down the road, needs a course of tablets to keep his cancer at bay... ''F*ck off, the country can't afford it''

I wonder why?

My gripe, if I can put it that way, is that I can go back to when I was a child in the late 60s and vividly recall TV showing and talking about the famine in Ethiopia and we are still in exactly the same position today in 2011. This suggests two things to me: -

Human life cannot, or should not, be sustained in that environment in any numbers or ‘We’ teach them to fish instead of feeding them fish.

I’m not being cruel or unkind here, just realistic...

On reproduction:

A) They often have large families to farm the land, (in case no-one has noticed there are no JCB’s over there), whereas we can just pop to the local supermarket.

B) If you do not have contraception, (for whatever political reason), with no X-Box for entertainment or much else to do, how would you occupy your time?

Let's not be hypocritical please

A UN report says that Africa's population will more than triple by the end of the century to three and a half billion.

If Africa wants to create babies then don't stop them. Give them viagra. Maybe we should get a fleet of slave ships running and use them as cheap labour in the factories.
Oooh silly me, we have that already with all the foreigners who are here.

As mentioned before, enough of my taxes get given abroad without my permission nor condusive with my personal views.
If we spent more here ( like all of it), I would then possibly give some to overseas aid.

But until hell freezes over...........................

Not giving money to India could be detrimental to the welfare of our soldiers in Afghanistan.
But if it were up to me Id have therm all back home anyhow.
