Youth unemployment at an all time high.

Is youth unemployment a consequence of immigration?

  • Yes. It's pretty obvious. They are taking all the jobs.

  • No. It would be just the same if the Poles hadn't arrived.

Does immigration of millions of Poles and the like make any difference? Would there be record levels if we hadn't let all the foreigners in? I doubt it.

Has there been any stats on the adult unemployment?
At the end of the day there is not a lot of work for anyone at the moment, unless you are an unemployment stat person!
of course it would make a difference if there were no Poles, Mauritanians, Slovenians, Romanians etc... As there would be some work for the lazy feckers that can't be arsed going to work and more scrap metal to nick!

There are plenty of kids who want to work but can't get the opportunity because the jobs are given to foreign kids. I wonder why.

Perhaps it's because the foreign kids who don't want to work don't come over here. Which still leaves the kids in this country out of a job.

Perhaps? that's just a guess, not a seriously proposed argument

Are you seriously proposing that there are no foreign kids who don't want to work?

Too easy for some to say British kids don't want work because of the high unemployment rate. No one's yet mentioned "The Recession", which the country (and indeed much of Europe) is still struggling to come out of. Have none of you ever been through a recession? FFS it's not that many years since the last one. If few companies are employing, then the knock on effect is less jobs for younger people anyway. No doubt someone's going to come back saying there's thousands of jobs up and down the country, but these are not necessarily in areas with high youth unemployment.
Labours grand "Social Engineering experiment "(ie multiculturalism) has certainly had it's effect on employment. Did anyone here try getting a job on the Olympic site in East London? I tried, but couldn't speak an Eastern European language, therefore didn't get a look in the door.

I nipped into my local bank today, and there were a couple of Polaks in the queue in front of me. Went into Co-op, couple more Polaks in the queue in front of me.

I should imagine it's the same thing for our young job-seekers - foreigners ahead of them in the job queue.

Polskis in the bank/supermarket queue is inconvenient for me. In the jobs queue, I should imagine that it's bloody disasterous for school leavers and graduates. Another example of how the politicians have sold our future generations down the river.

Its not the Poles, Its our lack of abillity to compete as a country. We operate in a world marketplace.
To be a successful economy one or more of 3 conditions have to exist

1/ You conquer/ run a vast empire and rake in the proceeds and efforts of your dominions. Those days are long gone.

2/ You have vast mineral/ natural resourses wealth (eg Saudi Arabia Norway) and live off the proceeds. We,ve squandered ours.

3/ You make things the rest of the world desires and sell them at a price the world likes eg Germany-with their millions of of migrant Turkish workers- with big ticket stuff even the Chinese can,t get enough of. Or China who mass produce low ticket stuff the world buys up.

100 years ago Britain led the field in Manufacturing. What of world renown do we manufacture now, off the top of my head- Rolls Royce aero engines, JCB earthmoving equipment, Scotch Whiskey, errrm :?: Oh yes weapons systems. Im struggling now!

To support this rapidly expanding population and get them to work we have to start to become competative again. The square mile will not feed a population of 70,000,000 plus.

Were snowed under with work.
Three tips..

1 - Produce top quality work better than any of your competitors.
2 - Price lower than any of your competitors.
3 - Employ foreign labour

Well number 3 shows exactly why the above poll was actioned.

Exactly Alarm. Just shows that some people don't read the whole thread before jumping in with both feet. Perhaps Norcon would do better if he employed young British born people at an appropriate rate for the jobs he's snowed under with, instead of employing foreign labour at rock bottom prices. (I'm surmising that's why he employs foreign labour)
