lets see in a poll who thinks £282 to change a battery is a a fair price shall we? lets also at the same time see who thinks £262+ parts to change a hard drive in a pc is fair too.

diy forum, but the post trail shows, you have done nothing but defend £282 to change a battery rather then offer any help or advice to the op. with your own agender to keep public for seeing how simple a domestic alarm really is to insdtall and maintain, and the private forums on trade sites where prices are discused in secret because you dont want the public to know how cheap pro gear really is.

Do as you wish, are you on a crusade?
Try one on Petrol, or Gas prices...............Electricity.

What a tool.
Clearly struggling to read earlier posts.
And you are the man(?) who goes on the trade sites to learn things - for free - then slates the same people. Not on the trade sites though eh?
Yaleguy tried that and made a complete fool of himself.

. The £282.80 is broken down into call out charge £169+vat =£202.80. Battery £36+vat= £43.20. The remaining £36.80 is labour

my god, £202 to get in a avn and drive to your house? kettles still on. i cant belive this

Tell you what, OP open the panel.
Take care and be aware of mains. Change the battery, and close it.
Put in your code and if it locks up enter your code and it will give you 4 digits.
If I have the right logarithm (There are hundreds) I will give you the anti code.

If your alarm blows up after or sets fire then its on your own head.

How fair is that? A free reset.

Happy Lee, without testing he can have it done for free.
But i`ll tell you what, I would rather have it done correctly.

Here is the bottom line.
WHY NOT GET THREE QUOTES?
WHY STAY WITH THE SAME IF YOUR NOT HAPPY.

EASY OR WHAT

Sh1te kettle then.
And I charge more depending on the job.
What do you do? You charge?

Or why didn't the op ask for the company to remove eng code when he cancelled the contract?

As I keep saying no full info.

My bet bad payer, complainer. So they upped the charges.
If wrong sorry, but this is a typical example.

There are no outstanding bills.
£282.80 was what we were quoted.
These alarm systems use the same battery that kids ride on toys use. Or even some golf buggys.
Power Sonic PS-1270 F1 12volt 7 amp or a yuasa NP7-12.
I did not buy from ebay or amazon. There are plenty of businesses that aswell as a shop have a website.
I agree with lee2009. £282.80 is a micky take

op they have had you and are having you, your evidence shows for a domestic install that what your paying is out of order for all this.

there labour rate is quite fair per hour, the battery had a 100% mark up (go look on ebay at a respectable seller what a yussa battery costs) oh you dont need to cos you already got one for £24 quid (trade sites secret forums for disccusing prices and mark ups)

that call out charge is disgusting, they make more money driving to your house then they do fixing your problem, do not even contact these people again mate, £282 to change a battery with a £200 call out charge.

im going to read your post in full now so i can digest it

why not get 3 quotes?
Do you not normally for anything else?

You have not here and complain.
Get 3 tomorrow and see what they say.

EASY

how damm dare you think this about the op, still defending your trade with a bill for nearly £300 to change a battery

and £600 to relocate a panel, how on earth is that justifed, because thats what they were going to charge him, op you could of had a top of the range pro graded panel for under £100 (a texecom 48 for example) £600 to relocate says it all about this company, reducing it to £350 just finnishes it off

op have nothing more to do with these over chargers, have you had thoughts about renewing your alarm op? or is that something that you do not have any intentions of dooing?

Not forgetting the fact that this situation would not exist if the OP had been sensible and asked/paid the installers when he cancelled the contract.

And on that point. They have no reason to show loyalty to the OP has he himself broke all ties with them.

So, by not doing things the sensible way, it's potentially cost more money than it needed to.

Nice one.
