People on benefits..

people also need to remember the vast majority off people on benefits are hard working couples often with with kids :D

All depends on what you call benefits BA. Most people understand "Benefits" to mean, jobseekers allowance, income support. DLA, employment support allowance etc, IE the benefits claimed by people who are unemployed (and possibly don't even bother looking for gainful employment). Young single mothers of 3 or 4 kids (all by different fathers) Who'll keep knocking them out, so'd they don't have to work. etc

Whereas you possibly mean working tax credit or family working tax credit.
I get working tax credit, but certainly don't think I'm sponging off the government.
just trying to put some balance in the equation

i don't know if the tories have changed it recently on the government tables for childcare a couple with 2 children with specific learning/health difficulties could still get help when earning up to £63.000.00
where as the more normal quoted figure was £40-42k

i don't think its fair to generalize when the comments actually apply to a small percentage the comments need to be more specific to be accurate to any extent

This is the whole problem with our economy and why it must change.

Employers pay rubbish pay and the government borrows billions every month to boost it to a liveable standard.

Obviously things must change. Wages must rise and housing costs must fall - otherwise we go the same way as Greece.

All benefits should be terminated.
Other countries can live without them!
Why?
Because they can't afford them thats why.
Neither can we afford them and borrowing billions to pay them is madness.
Then taxes can be slashed in half or more and people will have more disposable income and no need for tax evasion. Were the highest taxed, bankrupt nation in the world.

Is that the second verse?
Remember if you make any cash from the lyrics sales make sure and declare it!

Do you walk the line Jd? Ever broken the law?
Cmon fess up.

You're the one boasting about being a criminal.

I have no respect for crooks like you.

Not just housing costs that should fall Joe. I think the energy supply companies should be made to reduce the cost to the consumers too. My supplier makes millions of £££'s profit every year, yet my energy bills keep on rising (as do their profits) . Perhaps time for them to make less profit and reduce prices.
As for the working tax credits I claim, ,, wouldn't it make more sense to reduce my personal taxation in the first place? Rather than tax me at present rates, then give me something back?

But if they lower your taxes - then they have to borrow to make up the shortfall in taxes. Either way - we go bust.

Is there a break even point on taxes ?

Optimum rate where a lower rate stimulates more employment so thus increaing the overall take?

You forgot how the money go round works...

reducing tax increases disposable income.
Tax between 5k and 10k is taxed at 20% therefore the govt will see 20p out of each one of those pounds you earn.

Now pay attention.

If the Govt gives you that money tax free then you will have disposable income meaning you may well make a few more car journeys as you will be able to fill up your car...

Bingo!! The governemt will now actually benefit by around 70p from each pound given fuel tax , vat and corporation tax on petrol profits.

Good eh?

The same applies elsewhere too since VAT is now 20% anything you spend will ensure the govt will not lose out.

The only way the govt would lose out is if you stuffed your earnings under a matress.

Or employed foreigners that send it overseas.

or spent it on a villa in Greece, or tucked it in a Swiss bank, or bought some gold bars.

or lots of other things.

stuffed your earnings under a matress

Or put it on a pile and burn it.
It's just paper after all. Then no shark from the ir will get their grubby fingers on it.

or paid it, cash in hand, to some tax-evading crook like Norcon.
