Totally agree Joe, Not just the money they earn though. Easter EU workers are entitled to claim working and family tax credits. This should stop immediately.
Any tax credits should only be paid to British born and bred people, not to all and sundry.

Tax between 5k and 10k is taxed at 20% therefore the govt will see 20p out of each one of those pounds you earn.

Now pay attention.

If the Govt gives you that money tax free then you will have disposable income meaning you may well make a few more car journeys as you will be able to fill up your car...

Bingo!! The governemt will now actually benefit by around 70p from each pound given fuel tax , vat and corporation tax on petrol profits.

Good eh?

The same applies elsewhere too since VAT is now 20% anything you spend will ensure the govt will not lose out.

The only way the govt would lose out is if you stuffed your earnings under a matress.

you gain £10 by reduced tax so government £10 worse off you now buy petrol and ciggies around £3 worth so average 80% tax on that £2.40p to the exchequor you then buy £4 extra basic food half with vat half without so 40p vat that now =£2.80p you now save £2 in a isa [no tax] and flutter the extra on gambling and takeaways so another 20p so grand total £3 or 7 pounds lost to the tax man

If you are in manufacturing I assume that whatever you make/sell is bought largely by british customers. If they're all out of work it won't be much longer until you are out of business, and signing on with everyone else.

whilst i agree people from generally poorer economies will appreciate a lower wage
its very unfair to expect someone from the uk to share often several to a room to get a living wage

there is no way anyone on minimum earnings in this country can do more than exist without government help or be prepared to live in substantially poor /substandard accommodation
