Give me one instance in the last 10 years where an outside body has influenced or instructed a police investigation into what suspects it should or should not investigate.

All the lobbying in the world would not prevent suspects into a missing child/murder case, being investigated.
I am however as perplexed are many on here as to how one missing child/murder investigation can still garner quite so much interest from our police.
The one aspect I guess that keeps the police busy and is in the public interest, is the fact that there are international paedophile rings that need dealing with.
I suppose the whole Maddie thing is a good vehicle for stepping on international toes whilst affording our police force an excuse for nosing around abroad.
No one told the police not to investigate.

There's one simple reason why the McCanns aren't involved in harming Madeleine. (other than leaving her on her own that is) At least one or two of the others would know about it and there's no way they could keep it to themselves. Just coming up with a coherent story about checking on their kids is beyond them so the other is out of the question. So if they did harm her and dispose of her body explain how they did it without any of the others knowing. (he won't)
