Me neither. If I am watching something interesting (rarely), I always switch channels and watch any old rubbish rather than watch an advert. Sometimes that's difficult though because they all seem to be on at the same time. I would be more inclined to watch ads if they were broadcast at the same sound level as the programmes. The ads at night time wind ne up the most. The tv is turned up because I can't hear the dialogue in a film, then the ads blast my neighbours out of bed.
As for how much would I pay.... can't say, SKY is already too expensive for the tripe that's on there.

Nor me. I always record programmes so that I can skip the ads.
When I watch the news I usually start with Sky News (Channel 132) then, when the adverts come on, I flip over to BBC News (Channel 130) and then when football comes on, I flip back to Sky News.

I agree about the sound levels too. The broadcasters come out with some tripe about adverts and programmes being at the same volume, just that programmes don't make use of the full volume available. Absolute nonsense.
Worse still, whenever a programme finishes, and almost as soon as the credits begin to roll, some loud-mouth announcer chimes in at double the volume telling us what is coming up next. (I know. It's in the paper, for God's sake.)

And what's really annoying is when they advertise the programme you are watching during the ad break.

a good tip

if you are watching or recording a program choose an episode between 12 and 6am
they are restricted to the number off hours off adverts they can show so pile them on at peak time with far fewer at night
this also applies to many catchup services
also with 5od 4 player and i suspect most others if you play the episode through on the internet before you watch it sometimes you get no adverts the second time as it thinks you have already had them

I haven't paid for a tv subscription in years, used to be with SKY which was something like 50 quid a month, cancelled and never even missed it.

The only stuff worth paying for is the sport and movies which you can get online for free, it's a dying market, and I'm not suprised they whinge and moan when people try to leave because the companies invested millions in their subscrption service over the years only for the internet to come in and take thousands of customers off in other directions.

Internet has the added benefit of no adverts and anything you want to watch on tap, right then and there. With these old dinosauric subscriptions you are effectually paying to watch adverts, people forget this because they've only had subscrption tv most of their lives. Let's not forget the biggest nails in the coffin are the fact that most telly is ****e or repeats

This is quite interesting and I do the same.

However, in the past when the adverts came on you could ignore them - look away, make tea or go for a pee - but when skipping you actually have to look at them, albeit at twelve times the normal speed, to see when they finish.

Good point, but I usually press a magic button that advances the adverts by one minute. Usually five or six presses does it, but often I then need to fast rewind for a few seconds to get where I need to. In that way, I rarely even see any adverts!

i have never ever paid a subscription or rental fee to anything related to entertainment

I've never paid tv license either. Never will, no matter how they try and restructure the license fee I'm not paying it. I'm not paying for something I don't use or respect
