I'm sure Transam could be less vague if he wanted to. I think I heard somewhere that he posts fake news.

People are being denied the opportunity to buy that shirt because of an easily offended PC ****. Twist it how you want but that is a fact.
You are inventing fake news again, and calling it fact!
a) you have no idea how easy or how difficult it is to offend any of the people who think it is racist. Invented!
b) there are now over 250 people who think it is racist, whether that is a minority or a majority is immaterial. It is not "an" individual! Invented!
It is over 250 individuals, so far, and still increasing rapidly.
You are the one who is "twisting it"!

It was one **** who complained. 2380 voters think it's OK. So why do you think the minority of 15% should overrule the majority of 85%?

Oh dear! more inventions.
I never suggested who was right and who was wrong, or whether I supported the complaint.
I merely pointed out your inventions, a) that you could not possibly know how easily or how difficult it was to offend the 15%, or any one individual, b) there were over 250 people last time I looked, not the one person that was offended, as you inferred. Your words: "of an easily offended PC ****."

Now you are inventing my opinion for me! Get a grip!

It took one complaint from a bloke called Ian and the product was pulled. The vote has taken place long after. So yes if Ian hadn't complained, Ian, just one of him, the shirt would still be on sale and there would have been no vote and over 250 people wouldn't have been "offended". 250 people wouldn't even of known about it. Read the article again. The product was taken out because "a" customer complained. It's there in Black and white.
Anyway Himmi. Congratulate yourself. Your trolling has sucked me in again. (y)

It's interesting that you assume nobody else would have commented. Obviously there is no foundation for your assumption.

Do you still read the original Enid Blyton books?

It's interesting they didn't wait for someone else to comment. One person plays the race card and the product is withdrawn. Obviously there are a fair few continually offended types so possibly if Ian had dropped dead the day before he was so mortally offended, someone else may have complained eventually. Who knows? Do you not see the fact that solely one person complaining, gets immediate action, when racism is insinuated, is what people see as being overly PC?

I've never read Blyton books. Stop spreading fake news.

I have no way of knowing how many complaints the retailer received. Do you?

I suppose if you want to assume it was only one, I am equally entitled to assume it was ten thousand.

You are possibly unaware that Enid Blyton's childrens' books contained racist and other prejudices and other language which has become increasingly frowned upon since the 1940's. Some of them are no longer sold or printed, and some have been re-edited. A similar fate befell the works of Agatha Christie. The world is no longer what it used to be. Even in America it is no longer generally considered acceptable to leave black patients untreated in a clinic so that the progress of their disease can be studied.

What would Ian think of a T-shirt with "boy" written on it?

No, I know you don't know Ian and you have no way of knowing and I've been reading the wrong books.
It really means - could that be considered racist?

If not, or, indeed, if so, where do you draw the line?

It was one person who complained. 315 and counting also think it was racist, and Primark agreed, otherwise they could have kept it on sale.
Just because you disagree does not make him a ****. Rather the opposite, because you think he is a **** because of his opinion, makes you the ****, resorting to name calling and fake news, instead of intelligent discussion.
You are still inventing my opinion for me. It was Primark's decision, not mine!
Do I really need to explain it in simple terms before you will understand?
