Ahh Safety comes at a price, looks like your a landlord.omg
Are you another anti-landlord whinger, yes safety comes at a price, at the same time money does not grow on trees, if it did then everyone would own their own houses and no one would need to rent out or live in council towers. We provide a very important service whilst all you can do is whinge.

I am pretty sure the cladding used on Grenfell tower was not intended to take lives , it was for all intent and purpose for the benefit of tenants, but you can't please everyone can you, whingers will always moan, and a there is so much upheaval going on at the sad loss of lives in London Tower fire, but do you ever think how many innocent civilians lives are being lost daily in Syria through daily bombings and total destruction of their homes and other infrastructure , young and old, and children are being bombed without any concern, being crushed under falling debri, backed up by the our Governments, they don't give a hoot about safety of civilians lives elsewhere, just because those lives are being lost thousands of miles away.

so let us play a fair game and leave things in perspective.

It does hurt me to see people die needlessly everywhere in the world, as well as humans subjecting ill treatment and torture and killings on other humans as well as some animals like bulls being speared in to entertain some sick humans.
60 people died in a forest fire in Portugal today, could it have been prevented?
The answer is simple, No, You cannot protect everything all of the time.

:cautious::whistle::oops::) worry not, I need to get mains linked ones any way, as alarm going off in kitchen cannot be heard anywhere near bedroom, hence i need to cover all angles even though the recommendation was for just one heat detector in the kitchen and a fire door.

Does this deal on ebay sounds good, I need 3 smoke and 1 heat
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-x-BRK-7...194235?hash=item41ad77f57b:g:gBQAAOSwZ1BXc3AD

But Dave, how do i resolve the issue of smoke alarm detector going off in the lobby next to kitchen, or may be I omit it there altogether, the idea was if the heat detector in the kitchen responds only after a fire breaks out, at least the smoke detector would pick up smoke well before a fire breaks out, so this detector is about 4 meters away from the cooker, and cooker has a extractor hood that is vented to outside.

Nowadays you can get dual units that you can switch between OPTICAL and IONISATION, you could test each setting and may find OPTICAL performs better.
Obviously check your Regulations etc I am not sure if they allow them to be used as some insist on IONISATION only

Any sane person should stop and think this is just morally repugnant - the cuts to the services. Listening to radio Police chiefs were mentioning how the cuts are affecting mental health. The officers have to deal with greater workload and now see so many more incidents that it starts to wear them down leading to mental health problems. I would say it would apply to firefighters as well.

The cuts are disgusting, irresponsible and shameful and I salute all those who work in the police, NHS, firefighters etc who have to deal with this. We are a better country than this.

If you spend money you don't have, and you have to borrow more at increased interest putting you further into debt, what happens when you have no money to feed yourself..

I have never felt that Authorities are ever on our side, even though we elect them, they are very quick to act when you break the law, and they consider themselves above the law and rules and regulations, how many times do you see council vehicles going about doing jobs parked their vans on double yellow lines, yet they don't get parking tickets, whilst a hard working private contractors get tickets for just pulling up along yellow lines etc etc, the list is far too long, they never look at your convenience, its always theirs, and their contractors, like cordoning off roads just to trim tree branches they put up posters asking residents to move all their cars, and when the parking already is so tight and compact how can residents from one street with say 200 cars can park those cars elsewhere?
There are ways to trim tree branches safely but they can't be arsed, because the inconvenience isn't theirs.

In my street they asked residents to move all cars for 5 days, because their contractors were going to carry out some road patch work, residents had to move their cars to already congested and packed adjoining streets, many had to park half a mile down, and areas are now designated into residents parking zones, so often you cannot find enough space to park in your own zone, or squeese 100s displaced cars from one street into adjacents streets, so when these notices went up, threatening anyone not moving their cars will be towed away, then for 3 days I saw no activity, not a single worker from the council doing anything, I had to complain to my local MP, I wrote to him about this inconvenience for the third time in a year.

I even pointed to MP that these notices were illegal as the validity of the order had expired already when they went up! No one noticed that, so I did not move my cars, because of invalid notices, I was waiting to get a ticket and I would appeal on defective or invalid notice, but no one gave me a ticket for leaving my car unmoved along with a few other residents also declined to move cars.

We had been asked to move our cars 3 times in 2016, once for deep cleaning the roads, once to trim tree shoots, and once to patch up pot holes! ridiculous!

BTW, deep cleaning my arse! all they did was run their little mini rotary brush cleaner with vacuum sucking up a bit of dust and tree leaves and papers stuck along the curb areas! that was called deep cleaning, a street cleaner could easily have done this if there was a will to do it manually! I thought they were going to bring a pressure washer and clean all road surfaces thoroughly! this little clean up took about 15 minutes to drive through and we had to move out all our cars for the whole day!

so for 3 days after the notices went up, there was no activity going on, all that inconvenience to us.

Then after my compliant to my MP, next day a contractor came in a small open loader, with a yard of tarmac and dug out a patch 2 foot by 3 foot and an hour later he was gone, so just to repair one small patch, our street was closed off from parking for 5 days! Complete insensitive and inconsiderate morons, and people are also to blame for electing idiots, I suppose idiots will always elect idiots!

And I will thank the council of Kensington and Chelsea for the following efficient and humane work:

Who opened up the The Westway Sports Centre, Crowthorne Road as the main reception area for the families evacuated from the area around the tower,

Who opened up the Kensington Leisure Centre to be used as a rest stop and staging area to support the emergency services and the local community.

Who on day one contacted hotels to book rooms for families unable or unwilling to use the reception centre even for one night.

I have every respect for the volunteers who brought food clothes and other essential items to the location. But these are one part of the process, there is a lot of back room activity that is equalliy important but it activity that can only be carried out in the incident room and thus is not visible to the media so it happens unseen.

... and housed and clothed these migrants in the first place.

While, in my view, the LA is entirely responsible it's really not about politics. Corbyn, and other little socialists like Lily Allen are doing a lot of damage by using the incident to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and when that happens you get violence.

In my view government is corrupt, almost everything is corrupt in the system, but we do a damm site better than some countries and that needs to be remembered.

Ealing council ( Labour) steps in with aspects of the relief operation, following protests.

The political party in charge of the council is irrelevent. The most probably reason for Ealing Council officers ( not councillors ) being assigned to the Incident Room in Kensington is that the Ealing officers have the necessary skills and training for the incident as part of the London Resilience Forum and planning.

Not all councils prepare and train for every type of foreseeable incident.

... and housed and clothed these migrants in the first place.
How many of the residents were migrants?
How many of those migrants were reliant on the council for housing and clothing, etc?

Just because someone is a migrant does not automatically mean that they cannot support themselves!

From someone who does not want to pay tax, probably tries to avoid, or does not, pay any NI, refuses to pay for his TV licence and is heavily reliant on the NHS, this is a typical, heavily prejudiced comment!

You are another cockroach, just like Firedhand.
