US Milk - WTF?

a lot of people would want to buy milk with high IGF-1

I'm pretty sure most people don't know what it is, or where it is found.

Nobody knows for sure if it is good, neutral or harmful.

Can you tell us which period you have in mind, when you think we didn't need to import by trade, or pillage other countries? Obviously you don't mean the days of Empire, or the days when Brit pirates or privateers used to loot foreign galleons, or the days when British slave traders became rich, or the days when Britain imported cotton, sugar and rum produced by those slaves, so you must be going back more than five hundred years.

Just when was this golden age that you think you've heard of?
Didn't Britain start the industrial revolution which meant that keeping black slaves wasn't cost effective so instead we employed wage slaves.

It very roughly depends how old you are.. and if you want to grow muscles quick or reduce your chances of getting cancer.. Research seems to suggest you can't tick both boxes.

We are currently part of the EU and I can't remember ever being able to find British Milk in France or French Milk in Britain.

That is not surprising:
There is little overseas trade in liquid milk, but considerable trade in processed products. In 2013, only 1.3% of liquid milk produced in the EU was exported.

France (and Germany) produces more milk than UK, so they would not need to import (liquid)milk.
However, as the comment above shows there is considerable trade in milk produce.

There is a milk 'product' that the UK excels in exporting - milk powder.

Just like the US, we like to make money out of dodgy exports!

UHT milk sold in some UK supermarkets is marked "produce of EU"

I find it hard to believe that we HAVE to accept imports of products we don't want.

do you mean "we, the customers who want to buy at the cheapest possible price?" or do you mean "we, the trade negotiators who agree that our country will sign a trade agreement with a large and powerful country that we hope to get access to?"

I find it hard to believe that a substantial proportion of voters (uneducated/misinformed people) have voted for exactly that scenario!
