No its not. There are people out there in all walks of life with different issues who have no voice. Do we leave them all to rot

2 different issues. You were talking about women being op ressed by wearing a burka. What right do you, or anybody else, have to decide what people can or cannot wear. That is op ression ! The very thing you are pretending to be concerned about. It's not the opression that bothers you (and others) really, is it?

Other problems in the world. Totally different problems, and answers. Start a new thread on it?

I think it is wrong in every way.
But for you to say I don't care for the girls that are being forced to wear the Garment is wrong. How would you know

You are welcome to your opinion regarding clothing.

But once you force it on to somebody else it becomes op pression. The very thing you say you are against.

What if socks were banned ?

Let's talk about low pay. Because there are some people who are happy with their pay, does that mean we don't stick up for those with no voice who have no choice who are being exploited. Yet are on the same low pay.

Banning something because you do not like it, but does no harm, is just as oppressive as obligating someone to wear what you want.
If these people that do not like the burka, etc, are perfectly content in the presence of nuns, then their "discomfort" must be pure prejudice.

Apart from that, the real reason for the garment is probably lost in the mists of time. Just like circumcision, not eating pork, or bleeding of animals in slaughter, etc.
These practices probably served a useful purpose at one time, and were written into certain "scriptures" to justify and oblige the believers into adopting that practice.
The burka, or whatever could be construed as a sensible garment for protection against the sun. The writers of the "scriptures" adopted an already well-practiced habit (pun intended) to serve their own religious ends.
But if we ban one visible 'religious' requirement, we must surely ban all visible religious requirements.

Therefore nuns would be required to not wear the uniform, in case they cause someone discomfort.

Against the sun? Why don't men wear them then?
Oh, and does this advertising campaign say anything about the sun?

Stop swerving.

You were on about the op ression of certain people. But you feel happy enough to force your dress style onto them. Do you tell your wife/partner/neigbour/stranger how to dress ?

I wonder how many nuns feel oppressed.
Or how many feel that their choice of garment makes them feel closer to God.

It surprises me that these so called 'discomforted' people have never complained about nuns' habits before.

The bottom one would be Thailand. She's protecting her health against pollution like a helmet again chrushi g your head. She will have no problem taking that off if asked by a male police officer Or shop assistant.

How many Muslim women will perfectly happily remove their scarves, veils etc when requested by a policeman etc?
But having it forcibly removed by a member of the public is assault, motivated by hate.
