Yes, another Brexit thread. As a former leaver who's changed sides, I wondered what people really think about our chances of leaving on 31st Oct. Anyone like to predict what will happen?

Christ only knows. There is so much speculation and BS flying around at the moment, no one is to be believed.

All I know is that a no-deal Brexit will leave a vacuum that will need filling quickly. I'm sure Bozza and the crew have it all planned out.

Well the bookies odds arent that different between leave no deal or vote of no confidence.

I would say leaving with a deal is pretty unlikely.
Removing the backstop still leaves a pretty poor Theresa May withdrawal agreement -and if that goes through, it means years of trade negotiations where we will get stuffed, giving one concession after another.

Boris doesnt want a no deal - he knows the chance of a government breakdown in the aftermath will ruin what he wants: which is to be PM.

A no confidence vote will certainly happen if no deal stays on the table.
But the numbers depend on whether Tory remainers outnumber Labour leavers.

Personally I think the most likely outcome is an extension..........

, life will go on and the UK will be fine

Life wont go on.

That is exactly what is not understood.

A no deal will lead to more negotiations.

A deal is only going to be the Withdrawal Act -which is not a deal.
Trade deals will follow -and will drag on.

So lamchamps, life wont go on, no.

Doubtful,his ass will be grass!

From day 1 Boris has had a strategy:
Campaign for a General election
And at same time give impression of wanting a no deal - to get all Leavers behind him.

Boris plan now is to play out the EU blame game.

Boris has boxed himself in totally with a guarantee leave on 31st -its all bravado.

Boris doesnt care for Brexit, he only cares for his job as PM.

Im sure he would opt for a 2nd ref if it avoided a general election as it guarantee he stays in power.

What a tit you are

Lamchamps thinks if Brexit in any form happens that will be the end of it.

It will not -it will mean years of negotiations, tying up parliament for years to come.

So in the political sense, life will not go on.

Please do try not to underthink it so much :):):)

I wouldn't want to call it. I know what I want but I'm not part of the negotiating team.
If we were just dealing with Merkel I suspect the outcome wouldn't be too onerous, some sort of fudge, short extension followed by set date for a leave with some sort of trade agreement, something where both sides 'win'. Macron will fight that no matter what cost to France. The divisions between France and Germany are becoming more and more evident but I suspect Germany's wishes will prevail in the end.

Something will happen on the 31st Ocober, but Im b*****d if can say with 100% confidence what that will be. Anyone pretending they can is a fool.
Boris has certainly made the end game a little more interesting.
