Maybe, but would the EU effectively sanction theft?
No but if there is no deal and UK refuse to agree anything on fishing, the French would prevent UK fishermen landing their catch at French docks.

Since 70% of UK fish and shellfish is sold to EU customers and we dont have the processing capacity anyway, its pretty clear the Navy wont be any solution.

i would rather suggest Brexiteers have rather too much Bravado.

What percentage of UK fish is caught by EU countries?

Well that's awkward.

When UK fishermen were awarded a Quota, and sold their rights to a non-UK company, do you include that? Is that better or worse than selling the rights to a UK-based billionaire?

What about when around a quarter of England’s fishing quota is owned by a British company, which is a subsidiary of a Dutch multinational?

It's a sad fact that a great many UK fishermen cashed in their rights by selling them to large companies in the UK or elsewhere.

I see from this 2018 report that (at the time) "Just five families on the Sunday Times Rich List hold or control 29% of the UK’s fishing quota."

Do you suppose our Conservative government will seek to disposess UK and foreign billionaires and multinationals?

I doubt it.

Simple solution tell the Dutch to go and do one

The UK is not going to be dictated to by a bunch of people who wander around with bits of tree on there feet
Bombed out of there eads on spliff and driving daf variomatics ;)

Are you aware that a portion of UK fishing quotas are foreign owned and are likely to stay that way, post-brexit?

Approx 50% of quotas are foreign owned, but after December when we're no longer part of the 'common fisheries policy', and Britain takes back 'sovereignty' of it's coastal waters, foreign boats will no longer have an automatic right to fish our waters, it really is that simple, the EU know this to be the case, that's why it's such a sticking point in negotiations, if they could just carry on as before, it wouldn't be a problem to them would it?

The French will kick off, and kick off big time, because they want our fish even more than Teachers want a second lockdown.

Of course, Barnier is taking a hard line, he wants us to give up our sovereign waters, he want's us to abide by EU laws and he wants our companies to be handcuffed to EU restrictions to prevent competition and he wants to stop us trading with other countries.

He's going to be very very disappointed because on 31st December we are leaving, deal or no deal, it really doesn't matter.

Automatic? They paid for those rights and have a contract to fish those quotas. That won't change post brexit.

Hmmmm

Contracts will. Be voided in January

Likely to be Confrontations at sea as well
A sort of Icelandic cod war??
