The only solution is the “Logan’s Run” method. Many of world problems solved..... Bosh!

So it has legs now?
don't be daft

What valid reason do you have for shutting them down again given the staff pose a much greater risk than the visitors?

You are at greater risk of being killed fighting with a with a mad and hungry grizzly than wrestling with a mad and hungry rottweiler. You must chose one though. Not fighting a wild animal is not an option. Which will you pick? Oh, what's that? You think it's safer not to fight. Wimp!

No answer then. Just nonsense.
The scamdemic rolls on.

"The NHS is still open for business."
Who said that, last week? I can't remember if it was Whitty, or Hancock.

Pity they didn't tell the minor injuries unit at my local hospital - closed due to Covid - when I went there yesterday, as a gashed leg just wouldn't stop bleeding.
Or my gp where (following on from the gashed leg incident), I attempted to book an appointment for ten days ' time, to have the stitches removed.
After the "if you're dying, hang up and call 999" answerphone message, and the "if you are displaying symptoms of the' rona, do this" (which went on for over two and a half minutes ; I was watching the clock tick while on speakerphone), I got to another recording, this time that, regretfully, my gp was now closed due to the lurgy.
(Above notwithstanding, the actual stitching up and what - not at Stafford hospital was very good, if a little painful).....

Do you not have a needle and thread?

This is a DIY site. Some photos and it could have gone in projects or DIY disasters.

Ok, answers:

No, it doesn't have legs, it floats in the air. Air doesn't move in straight lines.

When it comes to chronically ill people, often very week, elderly people, it is best to do everything to reduce risk. You can't stop the carers, but you can stop everybody else. Carers are also less likely to think ppe is a scam and doesn't work, so far less likely to spread it than people who believe conspiracy theories, and spread deadly fake news.

Over a million dead, but still a "scamdemic"?

How many people need to die before you admit you're wrong, Ryler? Go on, answer that

Well over 50 million people a year die. How many have died from covid and how many people have died from lockdown or the poverty or hardship caused by lockdown.
I don't know and nor do you.

World Health Organisation reckon that 300,000 - 650,000 die from flu every year.

How many care staff have infected residents?

How many visitors (abiding by strict precautions) have infected residents?

What's the alternative option?

Governments are scared of letting the R value grow to a point where hospitals are overwhelmed and economies are wrecked anyway.

Mass test and trace is the answer

where hospitals are overwhelmed and economies are wrecked anyway.

How does hospitals being over whelmed result in economies being wrecked?
Before covid ever hit you and many others were banging on about hospitals being over whelmed and the economy did just fine.

How many hospitals were over whelmed in countries that had no lock down?

(abiding by strict precautions)

I'm glad you added (that)

When faced with a belligerent retired labourer demanding to be let in, how do you know he has been following all precautions prior to his visit, and will continue to do so until he has left the premises?

How do you know he is not one of the anti-scientific nutters who drone on about conspiracies, scamdemics, muzzles and face nappies?

Says the troll.

How many visitors (abiding by strict precautions) have infected residents?

Back in March, April it was residents returning from hospital

But now it's almost certainly care staff that are most likely to infect residents.

I visit a care home regularly, I can say for sure the care staff are far more likely to be the ones infecting.

The interpretation of the rules in care homes has caused huge distress in families, maybe unintentional by the govt but it's something that could have been dealt with in a better way.
