Derbyshire Police Being Over Zealous. Again.

IMO the law has been written to be as flexible as possible, specifically because the govt. did not want to create a scenario where people were being fined for acceptable activities. As with lockdown 1, the list of reasons a person may leave their home is not exhaustive. Did the drafter screw up? No, they wrote it to give examples. 2 people driving 5 miles to go for a walk is within the rules. Plod should have given advice at best. Even with the massive increase in infections people still need to take care of their mental health and fitness.

The rules say I can meat a different person for exercise every day. But I should not go around the same persons house for a coffee. I suspect I am more at risk of spreading the virus meeting different people every day than meeting one person in their house.

This police force seems to consistently get it wrong.
What you have to realise is that the law/decrees are deliberately framed in such a way that the comeback is directed at those supposedly carrying out those orders, not the politicians who tell them to enforce 'something'/'anything'!

"I was only following the vague orders guv that I got yesterday"

"Which were different from the vague orders from the day before, and I'll review the vague orders that will change again tomorrow" !

Attendees of ghetto parties and lavish weddings and funerals, account for a lot of the spread, so it's only right they are fined the most.

Hardly the same as walking in a remote country park.....

Fine those who are spreading the virus (close contact , be it one other, tens, or hundred ), not individuals who are minding their own business.

In the first lockdown I was guilty of assuming that it was certain demographics or community’s that were not obeying the rules. I’ve completely changed views now.
For example, yesterday afternoon I was driving home through Hampstead & Highgate. I can honestly say I have never seen so many people out on the streets, in Hampstead Heath & waiting outside coffee shops. Probably north of 95 percent white. Not youths, it was couples, families etc. Absolutely disgusting. Everyone’s allowed exercise but I’ve never seen the streets so packed. I’m completely dismayed. How can 2 people in the middle of nowhere get fined or mass fines at raves but it’s ok for thousands of middle class white people to show no regard for the rules whatsoever. No masks on show either. (Or police!!) in my area we are up to 1300 per 100000.

By the way, I was driving home after repairing a pensioners boiler free of charge. ( before anyone says why was I out)

Do you need me to do everything for you?? What do YOU think stay at home means? You spend your life and energy trying to find loopholes be subversive and generally trying to aggrevate the system then twisting then looking for a fresh conspiracy .

You seem to spend your life missing the point which doesn't reflect well on you. PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED OUT TO EXCERCISE.

I quote -

"
But in a statement, the force said further guidance issued by the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) had "clarified the policing response concerning travel and exercise".

The guidance said: "The Covid regulations which officers enforce and which enables them to issue FPNs [fixed penalty notices] for breaches, do not restrict the distance travelled for exercise."

I ask you once again, what are these two women gulity of?

Guilty of lack of common sense as were the police, no need to drive for miles to have a walk, no need for heavy handed policing

Bobby John G, you & Elle would soon be posting conspiracy theory’s about police state if things tighten or are to strict. Weirdo

Ring any bells?

"...since the beginning of the 20th century it
[police state] has "taken on an emotional and derogatory meaning" by describing an undesirable state of living characterized by the overbearing presence of civil authorities.[1] The inhabitants of a police state may experience restrictions on their mobility, or on their freedom to express or communicate political or other views, which are subject to police monitoring or enforcement."
