Vaccinations romping along

Just because the Kray twins looked after their granny doesn't excuse them from all the criminal activities for which they were guilty.
If the Kray twins were around today they would probley be in politics.
More money to be made and less chance of incarceration.

I am totally gob smacked, a statement I can actually agree with - in amongst the ramblings..... I do suspect TM just might have been slightly better able to handle this mess than BJ.

Being less incompetent than Buffoon is a very easy standard to meet.

Whatever. It still has nothing to do with the subject of the thread.
I disagree, decisions like vacating infected people into care homes has everything to do with the total cock-up of handling the pandemic.
The vaccinations success is just one aspect (maybe the only aspect) that has been a success in the whole story.
it's be like Seb Vettell losing it on a rookie mistake, and saying, "yeah but didn't I walk back to the pits well?"

Very much like Stalker Mottie's unsuccessful attempts to track down where I live.
Are you still stalking me? You were keen to tell everyone what area you drove to, to support your argument in the Dawn Butler thread but not what area you drove from. Why is that - if you’re going to tell a bullcrap lie to suit your post, why only half the bullcrap? At the time you gave your location as Greenock but when I challenged you on your "Hundred trips a year" drive to East London claim, you quickly changed it to 'Coastal'. I suppose that’s in case someone goes to Greenock and asks for big John D and tracks you down.:LOL:

Remember vaccines? The thread? Anyhoo. Wales is having a good war, with just under 716k jabs in arms so far. A quick count-up of the numbers in each group suggests a 96% take-up. I'm very critical of Drakey and the Parish Council normally, but credit where it's due. Da iawn NHS Wales.

South African variant

"People who have received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine have been found to have strong T-cell responses against the UK and South African variants of Covid, suggesting that the vaccine will continue to protect against serious disease in the coming months.

In the first study to test immune responses against the variants circulating in populations, researchers found that although antibody responses against the new variants were blunted, they may still be high enough to protect most people from becoming infected, after a second dose of vaccine has been given.

Although previous studies had suggested that antibodies from those vaccinated with the Pfizer/BioNTech jab could recognise and neutralise viruses carrying some of the individual mutations found in the South African and UK variants – albeit at slightly lower levels compared with previous variants – these were tested on engineered viruses rather than ones isolated from real patients.

These studies also did not look at T cells, which annihilate virus-infected cells and support the production of antibodies. Both immune responses help provide lasting protection after vaccination, but antibody responses are easier to measure."

France has failed to secure enough vaccine, so has unilaterally decided without any scientific consensus that only one jab is required if you've already had Corona.

I think it won't matter too much as the frogs have one of/the highest proportion of anti vaxers in the EU anyway.

A bit like UK unilaterally decided without any scientific consensus that 12 weeks was better than 3.

There are not enough doses to go round so everybody is trying to spread them thinly. In a few months time more factories will come on stream and we will have more than we need.

UK has ordered 330million doses. Boris is like the man filling his house with toilet rolls.

Not so. That decision was supported by scientists and has actually been endorsed by the WHO.

"The UK has been "vindicated" over its "brave" decision to offer vaccines doses up to three months apart, the World Health Organisation's special envoy on COVID-19 has said.

Dr David Nabarro told Sky News' Sophy Ridge On Sunday the move had provided the rest of the world with a "great lesson"."

You need to have more faith instead of trying to knock the UK at every opportunity.

You do realise that top ups will be required? No? Well that's why we are fortunate to have people that do. But I'm sure people like you won't ever thank those people, just endlessly criticise.
