Shower Pumps Keep Failing

UPDATE: I have given up for the moment trying to find out why the previous pumps failed... BUT THE HUNTING IS BACK. After use, it hunts over the next hour or so every 5-10 minutes, then hunts maybe 4 times over the next 24 hours. As I cant access them, I assume its a problem, possibly air, in the pipes between the pump and the shower. I have seen on another forum, advice to fit Non Return Valves on these pipes - doe sthis make sense? If so, what are the bes ones to get for 15mm pipes please? Any ideas?

Have heard of fitting NRV`s before but then some manufactures make a point of saying don`t fit them.

Why do you have the pump switched on when you are not using the shower?

Alec: Standard operating procedure for a shower pump. And as a matter of principle, I dont like turning things on and off....

You could always ask @SalamanderPumps their view on fitting nrv on this pump, I would be interested to see their reply tbh for futher knowledge.

Why do you have the pump switched on when you are not using the shower?

Pretty standard to leave switched on I would think.

Hi Just pumps, Salamander do not recommend NRV to stop the hunting. It may reduce the hunting, but SOP to do isolation test etc. So, to me, it looks like the best thing to do (rather than replumb from pump to shower head) is to turn the pump off after use, and turn on for use. Not great, but looks best for now. Thanks for your help, D

Thought that might be the case with Salamander pumps. No worse than having to pull the cord on old electric showers to turn on I guess .
