Am putting a stud/Aquapanel bath alcove in (Aquapanels starting below bath rim, sat on bearers).

How far above the bath rim should I set the btm edge of the tiles?

Thank you

Idealy you should start tiling from the second row above the bath and cut the row down onto it.
You need to work out the spacing between floor, bath and ceiling for best aesthetic effect

Thank you,
Well yes, but having done that and regardless of wether the eventual btm tile is whole or not; what distance is usually set between lower edge of eventual btm tile and top of bath?

I keep distance down to less than tile spacing so the silicone looks the thickness of the tile grouting

Really? 150mm (147mm) tiles, so less than 3mm?
Why would you want a great big gap just to bung up with silicone again
