. If Scotland does go independent, what happens to the Royal family.
According to the genealogists the Queen will still be Queen of Scotland.

So would London.
But there may be many criteria needed for recognition as a sovereign nation, not just independence.
It already meets the required criteria.
It has its own language and Catalonian is considered a nationality.
It also banned bullfighting at one point until the ban was overturned by a Spanish court.
.
For that alone it deserves recognition

Using the logic that the SNP like to use on matters such as Brexit, perhaps those districts who didn't vote SNP could be moved to England and excluded from the Scottish independence?
That would be partition. :D

What criteria are you considering?
Catalonian is an ethnicity, not a nationality.
Banning bull fighting is not really a useful criteria for being recognised as a sovereign nation.

How would France deal with this independence of Catalonia?

Not necessarily, Catalonia is the richest part of Spain.
London is the richest part of UK, does that warrant its independence?
Paris is the richest part of France (possibly) does that warrant its independence?

Breaking news:

The prime minister has called a summit with the leaders of the devolved administrations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, saying the UK is "best served when we work together".
A bit late since his deal is causing troubles in NI and increased support for SNP.
