I mentioned earlier that he may have shot himself in the foot again. That is why. Some of his close supporters are saying the comment was ok now he has explained why he said it which is tending to keep it in the news.
Fact of life though if charges are not pressed no one gets found guilty. The fact that these sort of cases were dealt with singularly has been fixed but that leaves scope for 2 cases in recent years where in one case a group and another a single person was accused of much the same thing as Saville and the allegations were found to be false. There are probably others we don't hear about.
The nutters actually were a rather mixed bunch. The news could attract even more. All that need happen is one day one of them turn up with a knife. As it was the police had to arrest 2. All on an allegation that has no foundation what so ever in terms of facts. If it was based on the results of the enquiry the comment would not have been made.
Something that I think needs fixing and not just in this area
