• Looking for a smarter way to manage your heating this winter? We’ve been testing the new Aqara Radiator Thermostat W600 to see how quiet, accurate and easy it is to use around the home. Click here read our review.

What are you having for breakfast?

I would think of giving it a try but looking it up, it’s not suitable for Mrs Mottie as it’s no good for gluten intolerant/coeliacs plus it has palm oil which we avoid.
The one I have doesn't have any oil, but it does have gluten.

We had a pot of cream in the fridge that had not been opened last week but was a day out of date. Mrs Mottie will not touch anything past midnight of the 'use by' date. I was going to chuck it away. I opened it, tested it, it smelled fine, tasted fine, she wasn't about so I drunk the lot. That filled me up. I was in a cream coma.
I used to work in a dairy. Part of my job was to open milks, yogurts and creams and taste them every day until they started tasting bad.

You'd be surprised how long it took. Oh, and the higher the fat content, the longer it stayed fresh. Now imagine that pot of cream has not been opened. It will last for AGES beyond the date!

One day will not matter a jot.

I love the image of cream coma, BTW!

Edited due to the most ridiculous auto correct ever known to man.

No. What do they taste like and where did you get them? I had some goose eggs once when we were staying in the Peak District. We were in a community pub and there was a table in the middle of the pub with produce for sale from members of the community. A honesty box affair. They were very strong as far as I can remember.

I don’t know what they taste like yet. I got them from a customer this morning.

I tend to eat with my eyes, I’m struggling a bit.

I’ll man up and try them tomorrow

Well?

Come on then, let us know what they were like.

We're staying in a cottage in Norfolk at the moment. Down the lane, I saw a sign "eggs for sale". I've just walked up there and they have a selection.

Guinea fowl eggs on toast. Very flavoursome. Quite small so I poached all six of 'em. I might try a dozen quail eggs tomorrow….

Bantam eggs this morning. I think they'd slipped a pigeon egg in there!

Anyway, okay but not as nice as the Guinea fowl. Had six of them again.

I'd better call it a day for the eggs or I’ll end up egg bound. As I sat down to them this morning, I was reminded of this scene in Cool Hand Luke.
