Before I had to give up caffeine I used to drink Yorkshire tea. Up until a few months ago I was drinking decaf Yorkshire tea, but then my mum made a really nice cup of tea, which to my suprise was Tetley decaf (round teabags ). So for couple of months or so I've been drinking Tetley decaf, up until last night when I opened a new box and it tasted bloody horrible. I assumed it was a bad batch, so I bought another box on the way home today and those taste rancid as well.
So from now on I'm boycotting Yorkshire and Tetley decaf. Can any decaf tea drinkers advise me of a decaf tea which actually tastes like tea?

None taste like normal tea. You don't get the same bitterness.

But once I adapted, Tetley decaf has always been good for me. Never had an issue.

If I wasn’t allowed caffeine I’d drink water!!

A proper cup of tea is probably the part of my day.

It’s like no alcohol beer, why ?

I never got into alcohol free beer.

But decaf tea is OK if that is all you drink. It's when you switch between normal and decaf that you really notice.

My wife made me a normal Yorkshire tea by accident last week and it was way too bitter.
I just made a Yorkshire decaf where I left the bag in the cup to brew for about 10 minutes and that was fairly acceptable.

I might order some of this:

I have 2-3 cups before 10am. Maybe a coffee mid day and, a couple more cups of tea before dinner.

I really enjoy a decent cup of tea. Possibly my favourite drink.

I don’t see decaf ever becoming part of my life, I’m sorry to say that, and I know decaf means me no harm, but it’s just never happening

Thinking about it, what’s next ?

We're having Co-Op decaf at the moment, other than that, whatever’s the cheapest. We only have decaf as our last cuppa of the day though - normal stuff for the rest of the day - always Tetley. We have our last cuppa about 7.30ish so I’d better get the kettle on now so it’s ready for when Mrs Mottie gets out of the bath. Can’t really tell the difference from different decaf's and normal tea TBH.

I'd much rather drink proper tea but it overstimulates my bladder.

I've never tasted a no alcohol beer that is not rancid.

That's what I used to think. I was drinking up to about 4 cups of coffee a day, a few cans of diet Pepsi plus two cups of tea in the evening. I was pi55ing so often I thought I had prostate problems, but PSA test was negative, doctor told me to stop drinking all caffeine drinks. Giving up caffeine sorted my bladder out, but not being able drink a good quality freshly ground coffee is depressing.

I cut out both alcohol and caffeine on a trial basis a few years ago. I really enjoyed not feeling like I was in an altered state. So, I've stuck with it.
