Climate Change

Its amazing how this unpredictable weather is consistently getting hotter.

The hottest 10 years ever recorded are all in the last decade. That isn't random change, that's a rising trend with some random variation.

Is this a trend that could have happened in history before.

Our summers tend to be pretty good recently. As they did when we where kids.

But we have had a period of really poor summers.

But even that can be someone's perception?

No - not "ever recorded" -but since modern records have been kept which is not long at all. This "ever recorded" when used in climate is BS - ask a tree ring or the GISP

Yes many times and even quicker and even hotter - its all been gone over in this thread before

Something else with these Hottest since temperatures - it means nothing if it is not at the exact same weather station. And then there is the build up of heat islands adding to the results.

No we dont "know"
Oh we do.
That one is one of the biggest misquoted "facts" in the whole argument and one that is constantly regurgitated by people who haven’t actually looked into that figure where it came from and the facts behind it --- spoiler alert -- its BS.
This was revisited in 2021:
" We find that agreement on anthropogenic global warming is high (91% to 100%) and generally increases with expertise. Out of a group of 153 independently confirmed climate experts, 98.7% of those scientists indicated that the Earth is getting warmer mostly because of human activity such as burning fossil fuels. Among those with the highest level of expertise (independently confirmed climate experts who each published 20+ peer reviewed papers on climate change between 2015 and 2019) there was 100% agreement that the Earth is warming mostly because of human activity."

Whos idea was it to let Humans in?

No. This trend is an anomaly.

No they weren't. Assuming you mean warmth. You've just forgotten the cold gloomy ones.

Yes, your perception is flawed, we have centuries of good quality temperature, rainfall, wind, pressure and occlusion measurements. They say you're wrong.

Fine, when there were dinosaurs wandering the planet it was hotter. They didn't worry about global food security and look what happened to them.

Sadly they also did not keep good quality temperature, rainfall, wind, pressure and occlusion measurements, but when it was that hot CO2 was also much higher.

My perception isnt flawed. I said I dont understand it.
Im asking you questions as you appear to understand it.

@Dec27 was right. I feel all victimed

Of course your perception is flawed. You're older than half the listed buildings, expecting your rose tinted memories of Victorian summers to argue it has always been this hot is just silly.

Is it really?

I always remember as a kid we always had good 6 weeks of sun in the summer holidays

That hasn't always been the case! Recent years have again been good! Have they not?

Didn't we have a year not so long ago that wasn't a good summer but was told it was one of the warmest average on record?

Those on the left of the argument usually unquestioningly believe everything they're told by those above them. Then regurgitate it ad nauseam.
When you say 'those above them', do you mean scientists.

I always find Reform types automatically ignore science if Farage doesn't agree with it.

Is it ignoring or denying?

Is it more about; what difference will I make by giving up my Diesel van if China doesn't stop its mass polluting industies

I don't know how old you are so it's hard to tell but:
What's the annual sunshine trend?
The latest UK State of the Climate Report highlights how the UK has generally become sunnier since the 1980s

You can have warm and wet years, that's to be expected with climate change, but it has also been getting sunnier. What we should be expecting is more intense flash storms and greater variability in weather. Higher highs and more dramatic lows.
