Water leak on incoming mains from water meter to inside property?

That's my eyesight and trying to type to fast in my mobile mate.

No mole.

They will inspect the leaking lead pipe.
They found the isolator inside.
Then pressure test.

But they have done several in the same area/streets and they all seem to be in the same place and it's normally just a simple connection coupler.

Most of my mates are in trade.

Just having several CP12s done.

Same thing every year pal.

There is a well documented and researched correlation between lead pipes and heavy metal leeching into drinking water. It has been proven countless times that lead pipes can and do leech heavy metal into the water in that pipework, especially when left standing over night, the thing is that all the testing shows is that most tend to be below the safe UK levels of 10ug/L (Scotland is now actually 5ug/L) . The trouble with that though is, there are still heavy metals in that water, it is well understood now that the only safe level of any of these heavy metal contaminants is 0 but legislation is still to catch up with that.

Glasgow has had a great lead replacement scheme up until recently - due to spending restrictions - where anything up to 100% of the cost of replacing the owners part of the pipe was covered by a grant, that has now dropped to 50% though this is funded by local government, not the transporters. Maybe different south of the border.
