Quite a margin Burnham won by, even if Restore weren't in the frame it still would've been a big win.

A huge majority of the lowest ever GE turnout, and those that voted for him were mostly those in receipt of public money.
I dont think tax dodgers or unemployed Lincolnshire farm workers voted for him
The opportunity to crown the king was too much to miss. Nothing has has changed for Labour...
The economy is too much at the mercy of international events for him to make a difference in a couple of years, and he can’t do much about immigration so he will need all his PR skills to sort out the disastrous legacy of Brexhit that this country has become.
 
Labour have already moved on to the possible loss of the Manchester Mayoralty. I think they realise that if that goes to Reform, it will be a stain on Burnham.

well.. there is a few things they could have done / not done.

employment rights, renters rights, the two budgets, digital IDs, Digital IDs by the back door.
