The economy is too much at the mercy of international events for him to make a difference in a couple of years, and he can’t do much about immigration so he will need all his PR skills to sort out the disastrous legacy of Brexhit that this country has become.The opportunity to crown the king was too much to miss. Labour have already moved on to the possible loss of the Manchester Mayoralty. I think they realise that if that goes to Reform, it will be a stain on Burnham.
