Biros - where do they go?

I buy Bic biros (fine, black ink, yellow casing ) by the box load. I don't ever remember using one until it runs out of ink or anywhere close to that, so where are they all? There must be at least a 100 kicking around but where?
Do you get through many? Have you ever used one until the ink runs out?
So where are they then?
