Covid Death Stats: Looking Like Us Doubters May Be Right

Only one Covid death today. Looks like the vaccination programme is working.

Strange how we perceive things, yes it's great that numbers are dropping , and 1 death shows how well we are doing.

But on average, there are still 1600 deaths per day in the UK from all causes.

The majority of which are not transmittable though, I would imagine?
Some are, some are not...

But then I guess the family of someone who has died of a treatable disease because the 'virus' has restricted other diagnoses/treatments won't really care that much...

Death is death regardless, and if the history of this 'virus' is ever allowed to be written there may well be some interesting reading ;)

Coupled with the lockdown measures it is demonstrably true.
Oh, good job you added that - as Mottie doesn't seem to realise Johnson said it wasn't the vaccine.

He (Johnson) must be right because not so many vaccinated here (Portugal) and figures very similar.

Was only a short while ago that a few on here were saying how well India was doing with no lockdowns and a pretty poor vaccination programme.

Lockdown criteria was to stop hospitals being overloaded....that amounts to the same thing as reducing deaths.

The lockdowns had two purposes - To help the NHS cope, prevent it being overcome with covid sufferers and thus reduce deaths, plus buy time whilst a vaccine came along.

EFLi is claiming the sole purpose was to flatten the curve.

A bit harsh. He’s not missing anything though. (Apart from the castle)

Hmm. Doris said it's about data, not dates. So why are we waiting another 2 months to be given some meaningful freedom if the data is so good now? Why has furlough been extended until September? Everyone was told that if they behaved themselves and got jabbed, they could go abroad on hols - looks like that's not true. Why are councils hiring legions of Covid marshalls? Planning the next lockdown?

Why post a video from an idiot ?

I was merely pointing out who Dominic Raab is and his position in the government for the benefit of ajohn.
I think ajohn's assessment of Dominic Raab is accurate:
Dominic Raab has come under fire for saying he "hadn't quite understood" how reliant UK trade in goods is on the Dover-Calais crossing.
