2 way switch on stud wall (image included)

Annoyingly toolstation seem to have decided to no-longer carry the minigrid fuse modules. They are listed as "clearance" and "out of stock for delivery", when I look at collection it only shows me one branch in my area with stock.

The click4electrics site seems down right now, but my last order with them they charged me £4.99 for delivery.

FWIW I had to install multiple plates containing red and green light, 3 position retractive and intermediate switch in a 4 module plate using their pro range to match existing.
I can't remember exact figures but it was over £400 for 20, this was likely around 2010-12.
I think it was only one wholesaler selling them at the time,

I will not complicate it further by adding you could also have a central light switching from one or both sides of the bed in addition to another 1 or three at or mear the doorway/hallway etc

An update - i've connected everything and turned the power back on. When I went upstairs to check, both lights were on. When I clicked the light switch, there was a pop and spark and now it will no longer function.

Any ideas?

Post some pics of your switch connections

You've wired it wrongly. Were you trying to follow Sunray's diagram in post 11 above, or some other scheme?

Where did the pop and spark come from? (Was there really a spark?)

The below image shows the left hand light switch.

The image below shows the fuse breakerbox as this is being powered from a plug socket

Yes, both a pop and spark. It came from the light switch on the left... (the one with lots of wires in). I've uploaded an image

The neutrals don't go into the switch take them out and put them in a separate connector block, then move one of the browns over ( not the one that's in the 3 core)in with the grey.......recheck the diagram

Ahh OK... so, the blue neutrals should skip the light switch and use a connector block to take the connection from the lights to the breaker box?

Seems like a good result.
Never assume that colour coding is correct - unless you have carefully done it yourself and rechecked.

Blue (Black) is not always N. Brown (Red) is not always L. an L might be a Perm L or it might be a switched L (sometimes L sometimes not L (including that sometimes it might actually have a N polarity accross the load, including a lamp (bulb)).
Careful tracing and checking and rechecking is essential.

Then you get it correct and ..... Happy Days.
