car insurance rip off

Meanwhile my son (17) would have to find £9000+ to get himself insured for my clapped out old citroen. No wonder youths today don't bother - most they would get will be a few points which will disappear after a couple of years and a couple of hundred quid fine. Don't blame them really :?

Yes but what are they going to do while they have points for no insurance.
Still drive and clock up more points ?

I don't see my insurance as badly priced really.
But then i don't think essex is no where as high as manchester for car crime.

And my kids never payed nowhere near £9000 for their first insurance.

Isn't that a double negative....?

Ambulance chasing law firms are contributing massively to the financial demise of the ordinary bod.

Lawyers are always the ones smiling when leaving a court room.

I protect my NCD on my insurance but after reading this article I wonder if it's worth it.

I had a ding a few months back (my fault) and when my renewal cme up it was double the price. Apparently according to my broker, NCD protection does not mean that your premium will not go up after an accident??????

Of course it doesn't. Protected NCD simply means you will still have a discount.

Fat lot of good that was then.

These ambulance chasing lawyers and 'claims management companies' need to be outlawed. I still get phone calls now about an accident 2 years ago which has been resolved and there were no injuries to anyone. It's a joke. It's so easy to do as well, you just pretend you had whip lash for a few weeks and hey presto a cheque for a couple of grand arrives a few months down the line and the lawyers take a nice cut.

Just had my renewal and its £230 more expensive than last year and ive not claimed . This really needs sorting out by this pathetic government as its really starting to take the p**s .
I just had my renewal, its £40 cheaper than last year, and last years was cheaper than the year before! :P

You must all be crap high risk drivers!
