I would guess that storage might the defining factor as once we get enough storage to cope with fluctuations the energy mix will lose its reliance on gas

People like you have been claiming green levies are the reason our energy is so expensive, but that is a LIE, it’s so expensive because of fossil fuel rises - mostly natural gas wholesale prices.

UKs energy is expensive because of fossil fuels not renewables.
