Climate Change

Read an interesting article the other day saying that after changing from global warming to climate change to hedge their bets - everyone's now getting out of it. Governments are ditching their climate propaganda, companies are turning the volume down on their green spiel. Some countries are abandoning their ridiculous, expensive, ruinous green targets and policies.

Even the high priestess of green/climate - Greta Funbags - has jumped on the Gaza bandwagon instead.

And the followers, many on here, will still be unable to see, much less admit, that they were taken for a ride by the climate industry and followed the flawed science like sheep.

exactly ! the public have been slowly waking up to it and are increasingly not buying it any more and realising its a perfect vehicle to tax us, -- literally in the case of charging ev car owners an extra 600 car tax - then that's not even enough so now they have to pay an extra 3p per mile. - when on earth will the buyers of theses ev cars start to feel less smug and more scammed.
We see now that many governments are watering down/ rolling back - otherwise extending target dates

Do Chinese EV owners buy, thinking they are helping the enviroment, or is to save money? surely when you factor in the production of materials and assembly mainly with coal fired power plants, and then shipping them thousands of miles across the world using a vast amount of diesel, it doesn't make sense.
Also allowing Chinese car makers access, especially with no tariffs, will kill the European car manufacturers, how can we allow that to happen?
the 2030 date for the EV mandate will obviously be the next u turn from Labour, to appease voters.

I was around 50 years ago and the weather was the same as today.
In fact, in South Italy it used to be a lot hotter.
I've been around that amount of time too

And the climate has most definitely changed.

Hot summers were rare. Flooding was rare. Water shortages were rare.

The weather is just the weather. But climate is different

I've been around for that amount of time too. Hot summers were NOT rare, although I suppose that not all parts of the country were affected the same.

Flooding and water shortages... we have millions more people now than 50 years ago, and more buildings. In my area, more than one housing estate has recently been built on land known to flood. And flood it did.

Communism (and its immigrants) again.

Post up a link, please?

Net zero. We are all paying for rich folk in big houses to have free power...
Feel scammed yet

I took a bracing winter walk yesterday, part of it through a council estate. Every house had solar panels and ground source heat pumps fitted - so we are paying for rich folk in small houses to have free power as well.

The Spectator?

It's an echo chamber (opinion piece) for Trumps America. It will take as long as it takes for the ink to dry on Trumps farewell speech to become as irrelevant as aveatry and his nonsense posts.

It's basically saying normal service will resume once the orange rapist has left office and the grown-ups are back in charge.

When I was a kid, we had very defined seasons.
Cold winters with heavy snow.
Wet and windy springs.
Crap early summers, with really good "six week holidays".
Clear upon return to school, then the frosts and fogs.
Rinse and repeat.

Wrong and ignorant -- as per.

Throughout mankind’s history the warmer times led to great prosperity and innovation, longer growing seasons lead to agricultural surpluses and population growth which in turn supported cultural achievements trade and expanded cities that flourished and societies had the spare resources to invest in art philosophy and technology.
In contrast colder periods were often disastrous, shorter growing seasons failed harvests and famine, Europe was struck by the great famine of 1315 during which millions starved due to relentless cold societal unrest grew - economies shrank and in many regions innovation stalled, cold harsh climates didn't just make life harder they made Civilization more fragile. Be careful what you wish for. And dont believe everything you are told by the very people profiteering from the "climate doom"
No, you're looking at the macro not the micro. Even your C&Pd section shows that.

Again, look at how they take measurements, especially pre-2000.
Ive done that before, the quality of the science done even as far back as the 18th century is pretty impressive, at least the UKs is, Italy is more backwards but Id be surprised if it's not fit for purpose. What is your meaningless gripe this time?
