Climate Change

seems a selfish attitude, but fair enough you are not alone in this thought, and with the likes of 'drill baby drill' running the planet, I'm even starting to wonder what the point of trying to avoid climate catastrophe is...

least you are acknowledging that it is happening which suggest you have a grip on reality - some in this thread don't have such a grip.
I think you will find that no one is saying it is not happening. You are not paying attention but so long as you ARE paying your climate tax then all is good

I doubt there is anyone denying that the climate is changing, the difference of opinion relates to the cause, whether man-made, or natural, and what, if anything, can be done about it. No one disputes, that there is a vast amount of money being made, from schemes claiming to help reduce it.

The earth's climate, is doing what the earth's climate has always done, since the beginning of time - it is changing. There is nowt much we can do to influence it.

are you finally acknowledging that man made climate change is a fact ?
and that what we are seeing the beginnings of, has nothing whatsoever to do with natural climate change which takes millennia and something that no generation would ever witness (in any case in the natural sequence of warming and cooling, we would be in a cooling trend)

Perhaps you actually believe that.
there is nothing we can do to affect natural climate change, but it is so slow we need not, over the millennia it takes to occur we simply adjust without knowing

On the other hand, the man made climate change that we are very much responsible for, and will destroy economies in the chaos it will bring, well that type of climate change is very avoidable, we just need stop burning fossil fuels. But sadly there is a lot of money selling oil and this big business is too easily fooling the gullible amongst us

To be clear about my position.
Climate change is very real and would be catastrophic if it didn't happen.
Man made?
Maybe.
The only way to find out is return to stone age everyone for a decade and see what happens.
Pollution will surely improve, climate change...
I personally don't think so, but if you scientists believe so, why not go back to stone age?
Last point: giving more and more money to our corrupt politicians will not affect climate change, I can bet my life on this.

Every one has noticed that the pair of you are the two biggest Hippocrates on here. Both spout your brainwashing narrative and yet both are the most guilty climate destroyers on the forum.
One who flys off every 5 mins to slide down a hill with some planks tied to his feet
And another driving around in a 20 year old diesel van
So I will be taking no BS form you. ta.

how am I being a Hypocritical ? i have never claimed to live some carbon neutral existence (although my solar panels may be getting me close)
But least I am not trying to deny the bleeding obvious, I listen to the undeniable wealth of scientific knowledge that clearly explains what is happening,

Where as you chose to deny science and put your trust in the like of trump, the oil industry and any crackpot you come across on youtube.

---------

and concerning my old van, as far as climate change goes it is an excellent choice, its very high mpg means it emits little CO2 and since I don't require a new one built every few years there is another big CO2 saving. i also only do a very small mileage
I think you are possibly getting confused by pollution that can change our atmosphere and pollution that can affect human health (and as I live very rural my diesel fumes won't be affecting anyone) Sadly I think you get very confused about most things

Our circumstances and consumption of the earths resources are all different, obviously. I've stated on here previously, I live alone, I'm never been the sort to leave all the lights on around my house unnecessarily, or leave the heating on 24/7 etc. I don't have family members running lots of gadgets 24/7, the elec shower isn't used 5 times a day and so on. I work from home and don't do the miles I used to so my fuel consumption is low. I last travelled abroad decades ago so don't use air travel. If I buy new clothes folk I know pass out as it's such a rare occurrence.

In short, although not in an intentional scrooge type way, I suppose I live relatively frugally and don't use much gas/elec. They recently dropped my monthly DD to £106 a month due to my credit level constantly being quite high.

So no, I'm not going to try and use even less to keep Milliband and the tree huggers happy.

Feck em.

I'm still not getting the hypocrisy. Please explain?

And before you go spouting that I slide down mountains on wood, consider this - when have I said that I give a shiny shoite or am concerned about climate change, any more than the the next man?

Well then if you are not hypercritical then you are evil because you believe in the man made bit and yet carry on adding to the problem and then point at others who do not share your brainwashed views as if THEY are the problem.

I have never mentioned trump - he lives in your head not mine

So its even more of a disaster for the climate than I thought - small mileage is not good in a diesel

Firstly if you are going to quote me then do it properly --- its planks please

Ahh right so you ARE just trolling then - got ya,
So you are evil then -- you believe in it all and yet dont give a shiny shoite. Loverly human - confirms everything about you that everyone on here thinks. No wonder you are out of work - people dont like you.
