Congratulations Southend

Blackpool is a headline grabber for all the wrong reasons now.

With the disclaimer that it's several years since I was last there, but I used to visit quite often, and would go out drinking in the evenings. There didn't appear to be any right reasons for anything.

It's a lot like uncontrollably crapping yourself,
I'll take your word for it.
Try these:

It must have changed. I remember a few lefties, a lot of fascists whose daddies owned half of some shire, and the 80% who didn't care.
If you're going to contradict Ivor's opinion, you should quote his post.
University attendees and workers tend to be a mixture of all sorts, as you've suggested, in opposition to Ivor's view.

You'd hope/think that after crossing half the world to get to UK to ponce off the taxpayers they'd be grateful.

We're stuck with our own criminals, but it's stupidity beyond belief to import millions who we know nothing about except that they come from savage, backwards cultures. Usually mysogynistic and homophobic too.
I'll take that a yes.

Unis are mostly a microcosm of the rest of the country.

Differing opinions, the lefties are in a minority but shout loudly so convince themselves that they're the majority. And they're power-mad, so get themselves into leadership positions in the students' union and whatever, from where they can try to influence more to join their cause.

Meanwhile everyone else quietly sighs and gets on with their real lives doing something useful.

But everyone at uni is young - as the saying goes "Employ a teenager while they still know everything". They're all convinced their parents never saw the great light that they're currently being drawn towards. Meanwhile their parents know exactly what they're going through but know that most will come out the other side having worked out exactly why most 30+ year olds don't spout the idealist claptrap that we all did while too young to know better.

But some do continue believing in idealistic rubbish. And keep shouting about it, convinced that everyone else hasn't seen the light. Everyone else knows that the opposite is true.

Not really, no.
Differing opinions
Always.

Not everyone, it seems.

But everyone at uni is young
The lecturers, professors and speakers - i.e. those that influence the students are all young?
- as the saying goes "Employ a teenager while they still know everything".
Never heard it.
Spoken like a poorly educated lackwit, intensely jealous of those with an education.

You really let yourself down with the insult-lobbing, you can't help yourself. Just when you're starting to attempt to begin to make a cohesive logical argument, there goes a random insult, often with a Boyo lobbed on the end. You've got verbal flatulence.

I done loads of learning stuff. Got certificates and everything.

Uni staff are that tiny minority who don't grow out of the lefty cult. Also they're usually there because they can't get a job doing anything useful for the world, actually doing stuff.
