It's already been decided he's got to go. He is bringing the whole conservative party down and he has served his purpose. The booing at the jubilee was the final straw

He's expected to survive. Announcement at 9pm. Various ideas about what the result will mean. In other cases ~35% or more say go means a dead person still walking. Seems Cameron called him a greasy pig as good at getting away with "things".

The rules seem to have been changed too - a leader did need to get a 15% margin to remain in power. In May''s case they held a secret vote about the can't have another vote for 12 months. It was in a sealed envelope and all they had to do was threaten to open it. She resigned.

There appears to be 3 factions at work according to some pundits. To keep them together it seems they may need a centrist which would mean ditching the current cabinet.

IMHO people who want to keep him are perfectly capable of sticking a letter in and then voting to keep him. Fits in with the speed of getting the vote as well - as well as some other Tory factors on how they work such as leader elections.

it's interesting to consider that tory loyalist, pro-prime minister supporter rice-pudd says that johnson will be OK if he gets a majority of one

But last time there was a vote, tory rebel, anti-prime minister attacker rice-pudd said that winning by a majority of nearly 2 to 1 was a terrible result for the PM, who was gone within 6 months.

just goes to show that these lying, dishonest tories cannot be trusted.

well fancy that.

theresa may won by 200 to 117 and was soon off.

johnson got only 211 to 148

Has rice-pudd said "a terrible result" yet?

So he's still in the job? How did he manage that. Blokes an idiot ffs. Still Notch will be relieved.

The resignations will start coming next.
well they ought to at least.

What? In the large number of defectors? This won't end well for Bozza.

Draw a line under - my arse it will..
More conservative MP's voted for him tonight than voted for him to become their leader.

Just listening to Starmer commenting on it tonight and all I heard was whine whine whine, whinge whinge whinge.
