Shapps confirmed that the Government will be modifying the NHS App to be used as a Covid Passport.

Well as of february...
"senior government ministers and officials have repeatedly and emphatically insisted that there were no plans for a vaccine or immunity certification system."
But then that's the plan that the sheeple always fall for...
It gets denied time and time again...
Then it's 'maybe we should look into it'...
Then it becomes policy!
They're currently denying it would be used for say going to the pub...
How long before that changes?

So when other countries tell us that they won't let us travel without a covid passport (which spain has done today), what do you expect our government to do?
If other countries are requiring proof of vaccination or recent test, our government setting up a system that enable us to provide that proof in an internationally recognised manner is what good governments should do.
Vaccination certificates or similar aren't new. There are loads of countries in Africa which won't let you in without a Yellow fever vaccination.
However, i don't think we'll end up in a situation where people are discriminated against in this country for not having had a vaccine. However, i can see it being the case that if you don't have a vaccine you have to prove your covid negative to attend certain venues or events.
Its nearly May. Things change......
Pretty soon I hope. Bar 'em all - deniers, cowards, general anti-vaccers and those who think it’s a low-lethal 'virus'. Bar all of 'em.

And if you don't have a smart phone ? Or will the Government supply the population with shiny new smart phones (purchased from a chum of Boris)?
People have to pay for passports, having a phone with a free app isn't a massive extra demand in the modern world.
Perhaps a paper one that can be checked against a database with severe penalties for those that cheat? Or it could be added to a driving licence, passport etc.
Especially if you can afford to go to the sort of places that might demand them - pubs, clubs, sporting events, theatres, concerts, hotels, holidays abroad etc etc. I mean, none of those places are compulsory to go to are they, unlike food shops, chemists etc

Then have a paper covid passport.
At a cost of £80. Sure, go for it. Of course it might not be valid for more than a year, or for some countries but you can always go buy another one.
Perhaps they can come in blue bindings.
As long as its obtained under the same rules regulations as a proper passport and difficult to forge with the same penalties for fraud. No problem.

How about a bar code or similar tattooed on the person.? Surely it would be in the interest of the nation, I'm surprised it hasn't been done before.
