Got done twice , within 10 minutes of each offence. (driving with a tyre which had insufficient tread). I was actually on my way to a tyre place to have it changed. I'd had a puncture and had put the spare on (the one with less than legal tread). First stopped for a "Spot Check Sir". When the policeman noticed the tyre, I explained that I was on my way to a tyre place to have the punctured tyre replaced and showed him the one in the back of he car. He gave me a ticket and said I really should leave the car at the side of the road and walk to the tyre depot with the punctured one, then walk back to my car and replace it before continuing on my journey. As I had about 2 miles to go. I said I'd rather drive there. He let me go, and ,,,, much to my surprise (NOT) I was stopped by another police vehicle about a mile and a half further on. The policeman got out of his vehicle and walked back to my car pointing at the offending tyre. He said he spotted it whilst following me at about 30mph. :shock (front offside)./ I got another ticket. When it went to court (did in them days) the magistrate remarked on my unluckiness at getting 2 tickets on the same day and within 10 minutes of each other and asked me for an explanation. When I had told him my sorry tale, of my driving misdemeanour's, he shrugged his shoulders , said "Typical coppers" and gave me a £25 fine for each offence and an endorsement on my driving licence for each offence.

Motorcycle, near Rugby and lost.
Asked for directions in a petrol garage and shot off as was late.
In front of an unmarked Police car, done for 65 in a 40 on a wide dual carriageway.
Plead guilty by post, 3 points and a £30 quid fine IIRC. Was so long ago.

yes i have broken the law [taken speed and acid] in my younger days stopped when my son was born 8) 20 years ago
never got caught 'though i kept it to a low controleable level

Bought an old car and drove round in it myself without a full licence, I'd had one lesson. Got away with it,never got caught.

Sooey and big-all , I'd lump myself in with you on this in that I've done a few things that were , ahem, dubious or illegal but never caught and charged but wasn't alarm really asking about those offences we'd actually been charged with?

In which case I apolgise that I can't vote as I've either been very lucky or very crafty and not been charged with anything.

Got flashed by a speed camera a few years ago and forgot to respond to the penalty notice.
Don't know if I've got away with that one yet.
Does that count?

Not a charge but daughter out in the car one friday night, with her friend, at 12.15 am on her way home, MOT ran out at 12.00, £60 fine.

I shall help the police when i see one getting beat up (not).

Got pulled by drugs squad, car and everyone in car were searched, with negative results, as they were leaving one of the rozzers pointed at my front tyre and said thats illegal get it fixed. Got pulled over the next day and booked for a bald tyre, endorsement and fine

On the plus side, been caught speeding, driving on a restricted road and parking illegally and been let off with a warning

Excelerated up the slip road on my bike, merged with the traffic, out into the third lane and gased it up till i caught the traffic in front of me, braked down to 70mph to match their speed, selected 6th gear, checked my mirrors to see the pigs screaming up behind me. :?

Got done for 109 average, 2 week ban and £250 fine plus about £40 court cost.
