Morning all

I’m looking at replacing an older rad in my lounge. At present, it’s covered by a sofa and which will be difficult to avoid with any large horizontal rad due to the size/layout of the room.

Which of these options is going to heat my room better:
1. New 10,800BTU horizontal rad, mostly covered by the sofa. (£120)
2. New 4000-5000BTU vertical rad, completely uncovered. (£200-300)
3. New 4700BTU horizontal rad, completely uncovered (£91.42)

Also, this is all running on 10mm pipe.

Hi, just ripped out a house full of 10mm pipe on a full heating system due to blockages in the pipework. If you can, use 15mm copper pipe. It depends on your room size really, if you fit a huge rad with too large an output you will have it turned right down most of the time. You can get a free btu calculator online.
