No it isn't right that they have so many children, but then neither is it right that while the so called civilised society of the western world lives in comparitive luxury, a child dies every 3 seconds from malaria.[/quote]

That would equate to 11 million deaths per year...the actual figure is around a million...still horrendous of course...

Thank you for the correction....I did just check it on the internet, it makes interesting reading.....the more you read the more you realise how horrific the figures are, and also how much wealth there actually is in the world.

The world is a very strange place indeed :?

Fook em, keep our money here.
Sort out this country. Then when we are stronger then assist the ones without nukes and terrorists.
Charity begins at home.

( Apart from depressed Moody gits on prozac)

This drought centres on Somalia, am I correct? The same people that have pirates, taking multi-million rewards, to release hostages, and ships that they have taken control of?

And Ethiopia, that used aid given to them in the '80's for aid relief, only for the Government to use the aid money to use, to aid their military defence? And spend none on aid.

I have worked for a charity, and most money is filtered off to the people running the charity, and none, or little goes to the people needing the aid.

If you have a business..who do you pay first? The shareholders, then the managers, then staff..then..no money left to pay to the people you were charity for.

I suggest to anyone on here, to volunteer, at a local charity shop, they will take you on, then see the corruption, and stealing that occurs. Plus you are doing your bit for the local economy, plus free stolen clothing.

I would suggest that comment is debatable.....I accept, there will always be 'takers' we should be thankful that there are also 'givers' we have an amazing charity in Cornwall called Shelter Box .... they are a shining example of how a charity should be run.

Alarm....Although I agree our country needs sorting out, the truth is we all have a relatively luxurious lifestyle, we have become accustomed to having everything we desire, when we want it.

The trouble is, money given to charities normally comes from the ordinary people, like the little old ladies, the mums, and generally caring people, not the bankers, the lawyers or the politicians who are too busy making more money for themselves.

The charity givers of this country are now being squeezed so much that they cannot afford to give any more. People are losing their jobs and can't always afford to pay their bills. I find it sickening that someone like PJ Wilderbeast (Lenny Henry) can appear on tv and expect another hand out. This comes from someone who has already earned more than I will in three lifetimes.

Pretty soon this country will be in the same state as the countries we are supposed to be helping.

Everything?
You in the same country?

No body is forcing you to give to charity , and I am sure Lenny Henry has given more to charity than you ever will in your three lifetimes.
Large business's do donate to charity as do people who are well off. People who are just about to lose their jobs usually do not donate money to charity, would you?

A lot of the money raised for charity stays in the UK, for instance if a country needs an irrigation system to help grow crops to help feed its population these irrigation systems are built in the UK, I know because I was involved in building the control units.

This is one of the flaws in the charity system , if the country in question was given a factory to build its own irrigation systems and money to employ people then helped along until it could run without aid then that would be charity money better spent. But yes there will always be corruption , and yes we use this corruption to our own advantage.

And when we need Africa to grow crops to feed our over populated country/europe then watch as we pump every penny we have in to their economy.

I am sure that you know I don't mean a luxury yacht or a private jet, I am meaning new tv's, blue ray disc players, the latest phone, laptop, ipad, etc etc
Possessions are now so abundant that we have lost the abilty to truly value what we have and to appreciate how fortunate we are.....and I absolutely include myself in that statement.

I think what most people forget is that we are privileged to lead this luxurious lifestyle and instead believe that we are entitled to it.
To say that people in third world country's should not be having kids can easily be used here in the UK as an answer to over population , poverty , carbon emissions management , employment , housing etc etc. But that would be frowned upon as being a bit ''hitlerish'' wouldn't it? Especially by those who have more than two kids.

Lets not forget the Nigerians scamming the world.
The "waste" we have making certain African persons rich.

Get real, **** them. They wont help us when we need it.
People have been trying to grow crops in Africa for years, do you think ( sic) Global Warming will help :D

I dont fall for the latest fad in phones or tv`s. I have decent kit. And it has to last a certain amount of time full stop. Buy quality, it can upgrade and last.
My sons have what they need and thats it. Albeit the best.
