Horn of Africa drought

These 3rd World nations, that suffer terrible diseases, and drought, etc...are only like what we had in Britain, as late as the early 1900's, even though the UK had an Empire of sorts at that stage, and was the Industry leader at that time, it proves that there is always a huge sway in the super rich, and the workers...the poor suffering the consequences, the rich getting venerial diseases.

Like what happens in 3rd world countries.

If Somalia has people dieing, then where do the pirates provide?

If Ethipoia has people dying, where did all the aid given a few years ago?

It went to the Governments, and the Aid charities, that distrubuting that money. I have said before, and say again, that Charity is the most corrupt company in the world, you pay money to charity, it goes to the boss of a company on half a million a year. Or a Government, that does not then spend the money on the people.....time for people to grow up, and smell the roses.

I've worked for charities, ANYONE reading this can do this, there is NO job interview. Do it. Then realise how much charity is ripping off society.

Big Tone hit a nail on the head for me.

"The land cannot sustain that number of people", to paraphrase. Not without capital investment and continual funds being pumped in.

On one hand, a guy leads a nomadic existence, driving his small herd of livestock with his family from watering hole to watering hole, a way of life that has gone on for thousands of years. Yet western governments want to pour billions into such a country, to put that man and his family in a city. And that's "good" - he can have a tv, mobile phone, and Coca Cola. Yet his "way of life" is gone.

On the other side of the world, a panda sits in a zoo - fed, watered, cossetted, helped in every conceivable (!) way to further it's species. To many, that's "bad" - "give them back their way of life - what we're doing to them is not natural!", some cry.

For me, stop destroying the panda's habitat, them leave them alone - if they all die out, who were we to declare ourselves God anyway?

My boss said this morning he won't give to charities anymore, when the "Horn of Africa" drought. He can have a valid opinion on this, in my eyes - he's done the "finding himself" phase, which for him was repeated stays in Africa, doing voluntary work on all manner of projects.

He has seen that the corruption is so rife, that anything you do, short of physically spooning the food down the child's throat, is almost certain to end up in someone else's pocket, belly, or house. Like the washing machine for the orphans' centre, that a staff member took for themself. I could go on.

I often hear the phrase "respect for your elders", and indeed Africa is held up as a model of that doctrine, compared to the "feral" youth society we are supposed to be blighted by. But this can also manifest itself as "the elders do what the f### they want, take what they want.....", which my boss has seen happen, frequently and repeatedly, during his volunteering.

I truly feel sorry for the kids, I really do, but one has to ask, for countries that have had so many people starving and dying for so long, despite the billions having been poured into them, how can they not feed their people, yet can bomb the bejesus out of each other for decades?

No doubt someone is going to come along and blame "Global Warming." The government will no doubt, put up taxes to pay for this "Global Warming." So they can send the money raised to some backward African country.

Or use it to bomb a sovereign country to steel their resources.

To pump money into a failing state; the country then get richer, and the people of the country see the golden land of the UK, so emigrate here..to seek a better education, and a better life, to fleece the country of money, to send back home...time and time and time again...and then you lot on here complain about immigrants, illegal or otherwise.

Britain UK isn't an Empire any more. We have no money, and no right to be pooling millions to corrupt regimes, WE are broke, never mind them. If they have 10 kids with 3 wives, and 1/3 of them die, tough love, that is how it was in this country 100 years ago. We have our own problems at home. Charity begins at home. To forget your own, and pay into a regime, that is known to steal money is simply wrong.

That's rich coming from you.
